Review summary
We went on a United Airlines endorsed shore excursion to the Riu Palace for the day. We got held up at the front desk because we didn't have a receipt that wasn't mailed to us. I did have a receipt for a deposit I made. They weren't going to let us in until I made a stink about it. At one of their restaurants, a certain dish was out and asked worker if they would be making more. A got a quick NO! It was an all day buffet and they weren't going to put out more food. Upon leaving we accidently left our IDs at the front desk. It was taken us more than 10 days to get an answer from the resort about sending the ID back, of which we provided a FEDEX number to mail. As of this writing, we still don't have our IDs. We paid $100+ each for this excursion plus transportation to get there (40 min drive), and in my opinion it was a waste. United Airlines should seriously look into this place before it continues to endorse. Also after I booked cruise, called United about suite upgrade offer.....they had no offer and was told to read fine print. While I enjoyed the Carnival cruise, I'll be hesitant to sign up thru United, which is my carrier of choice. But I guess I'll be contemplating that as well.Embarkation
