Great cruise but because of our balcony cabin location, no sleep!

Review summary

Our cabins were located exactly underneath the galley for The Grill. The noise all day and all night was very very loud. Complaints to Guest Services brought assurances that they would, "talk to the food & beverage staff, manager etc." but day after day (including calls to guest services at 4:30am when the noise was worst), made no difference. They kept offering us free excursions which we rejected as we wanted to SLEEP! Finally toward the end of the trip they gave us an onboard credit and a certificate for 15% off a future cruise (??). We told them thank you but that it did not make up for a week without proper sleep (and we were traveling with a 3 year old). They apologized a lot but were unable to solve the issue. The noise was very loud, people dragging things across the floor and banging metal against metal. Also employees talking very loudly. Not a good cruise we were exhausted at the end!

That's why on most ships deck 7 is your safest deck to book a cabin if you are worried about noise above or below.

Please let's us know what cabin you were in so this won't happen to anyone else

What cabins where this?

You have to do your research.

Lesson learned. Never book a cabin until you check ther deck above and below your cabin choice. Now you know.

Actually I've been on the same ship and had the same exact problem I was under the galley for the grill. Two three or four in the morning it would drag chairs around and make all kinds of noises but honestly it's my fault cuz I booked a room right under it so next time I know I'll never do that again so it's a life lesson, Carnival did give me 15% off my next Cruise which was awful nice of them. Just a really can't control the noise above when they're cleaning and working

I wasn’t there but i cannot imagine it was that bad. They wouldn’t have a room like that. You were not the first family to stay there. So while you may be sensitive to the issue the fact that they offered FREE excursions means they were going above and beyond. And yes a little research before hand would’ve probably solved this. Do you want them to prepare less so other cruisers have to wait for whatever the staff was doing?

Do your research before booking. I stay away from areas like that for just that reason.
