Review summary

All in all this was an amazing family vacation with sun, adventure and relaxation. Our group was 10 people from age 8 - 74 and everyone found activities to enjoy and had a good time. The quality of the food and service was outstanding and we all said many times that we thought the value of the cruise - what we paid and what we got was really fantastic. My only minor complaints were the cost of pictures, I really thought they could have sold a lot more if they made the cost more reasonable (it was 11.99 per picture no matter how many you bought) and the fact that the smoking in the Casino made the whole of Deck 5 smell of smoke. I feel the Casino should be enclosed if they are going to allow smoking. I recommend taking full advantage of all there is to see and do and you will not be disappointed!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely well managed, given the large number of people getting on board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Extremely impressed with the quality of food, service in the dining room. Everything was delicious, abundant and very good quality.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So many different options, the cruise director was everywhere (we actually wondered if he had a twin) and lots of fun. Could have been a few more sports options for kids.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really loved the shows - particularly the main spectacle and the comedians - all top notch.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We didn't use the kids clubs much but when we did all was good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Incredible, the quality of service, the attention to detail the willingness to help. Sometimes had to be a little patient with the language barrier but all would earnestly try to do whatever they could to go above and beyond.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everywhere we went someone was always cleaning something, Overall the ship design works, I would say that it took us a while to find certain things and I wish the signage was a little more clear but some of that was on our poor sense of direction.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was really surprised how well organized and laid out the room was. I was nervous as a first time cruiser as I had always heard how small the cabins were and I knew we had booked a lower end cabin but it was great. Lots of room to stash our stuff and every inch of space was used effectively. Beds were comfortable - and we didn't feel like we were tripping over each other.

Ship tip

Its a very fun ship with lost of energy, and a variety of options to suit all ages.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We did the Sail and Snorkel excursion and it was awesome, perfect for our large group and variety of ages.

Mazatlan, Mexico Did not visit port

We had heard it wasn't safe

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the Beach excursion which was really just a bus taking you to a restaurant on the beach but it totally met our needs. We enjoyed the beach, in spite of the large number of vendors coming by, and we were just a couple of blocks from tourist shops and restaurants.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was very good, we had a tight timeline to make our flight but made it no problem. The only thing was that they surprised us by starting to call people down earlier than expected and then jumped to quickly to add other decks - not giving those of us who had been surprised time to get down.

Cruise ships Really need to address the smoking situation and ventilation. It's difficult for a nonsmoker to enjoy the casino
