Review summary

Let's start with the positives, the staff was amazing and very nice for all they had to put up with on this cruise! Outside of them it wasn't a good time, It was pretty horrible! The decore that was in the ship was from the 90's, you could tell none of it had been upgraded. That alone would make you sea sick and want to throw up. None of the shows started until 10p.m. unless you wanted to play bingo or join in on the kids fun. The ports were good... except we only saw two of the four ports we were supposed to. That left us stuck on the water from Wednesday all until we docked on Sunday! Nothing like a really expensive boat ride! We paid to use the internet while on this ship too and as soon as the "technical difficulties" kicked in they completely shut down their internet, yet another waste of money. All in all for what the cruise cost it was an utter disappointment! For my first cruise experience I can say I will never go on another cruise with Carnival again!

Cabin was clean and always prepared for us! Raymond was a very nice steward and took very good care of us!

Ship tip

Don't ride on the splendor it is just a really expensive boat trip that is more likely than not going to brake down and ruin your vacation!

my question is if you were the captain of the ship and in carnival Management, how would you if handled it? do you think you could of done a better job? secondly, did you look up other people's photos at all before booking? have you googled the cost it takes to run and operate a cruise ship?

Why do people say the decor ruined their trip??? I don't really care about the decor. It's not going to make or break my cruise.

Was on splendor last may and coming from Bermuda we hit a storm that lasted most of the day and we rocked back and forth quite a bit and there were no activities on lido but you know what it happens and staff was great! But I guess to each his own!

It's all attitude. Mechanical problems happen. They comped 50% of your vacation and 50% of the next plus onboard credits etc. it happens. Sorry it did to you but I have been on a few carnival ships before and going on Splendor in May; I find them overall a good value. Always get trip insurance as well.

Don't these people do research on the ship prior to booking. If you are disappointed if in the decor, then you should have booked the brand new Vista.

That could happen on any ship. Imagine being at sea for 7 days. Missing all of your ports. Also, imagine a hurricane and how rocky the ship was. Imagine because of said Hurricane, you aren't even allowed outside. Yes, that's what happened to us when Hurricane Joaquin popped up literally overnight. Talk about an expensive, seasick (everyone, including staff), no activities due to rocking back and forth, etc boat ride. Your cruise could have been much, much worse. suck it up, Buttercup.
