Review summary

We had a wonderful time, then only problem we missed two of our ports due to engine problems, I've never had this problem before, this is my eighth cruise, & I will never go on this boat again, first day was at sea , 2nd day we went to Grand Turk, absolutely loved it , the beach is so beautiful, also loved margaritaville jimmy buffet's bar , we bought a tshirt , there and received a free margarita, it was so good ! 3rd day San Juan Puerto Rico , loved the city, second time there , lots of walking , I would recommend a tour to see the city ! Day 4 at sea , carnival cruise turn around towards Miami , we missed st Thomas, very disappointed , due to engine problems, Day 5 at sea, we missed Amber Cove dominion republic, also disappointed , day six at sea , day seven , back to Miami , so happy to see land after 3 days at sea ! Now , carnival did refund us 50% back of our cruise fare and gave us 50% towards our next cruise, also gave us till 9/2018 to book , when I do book the next cruise it will not be on the splendor!

The food in the dining room was fantastic, the lido deck was just ok . The BBQ place on deck 10 was great !

Our steward for our room was awful, hardly ever made our bed or clean our room , I did most of it my self, I even had to ask for towels at one point , now the dining staff in the dining room was terrific, love them so much !

I was on the same cruise, Splendor 02/26-03/06/17. We were safe, well-fed, well-hydrated, and entertained...not to mention able to be on vacation. The sheer number of people bitching was embarrassing. The crew had to work 24/7, with no days off like they normally would have had without the engine issue. This issue has happened on many different cruise lines. What Carnival gave us in "reimbursement" was really above and beyond...in addition to the 50% refund and 50% credit towards another cruise, each person got $100 onboard credit for a future cruise. Carnival basically paid each passenger $100 to take that cruise. Splendor went into drydock, and has been fixed. We loved the Splendor, and her crew. We look forward to sailing on her again soon.

From what I'm reading this ship has been having problems for the past few weeks maybe it's time to take her into port and given a good go over and get her running again.. But I did go on this ship in May and it was a good cruiseship had a Great time. But it's nice to see that they refunded half your money plus gave you 50% towards your next cruise..
