The lights when you first enter the ship you immediately say WOW this is nice the service and staff were amazing

The ship was very nice, kept clean with great staff. Very impressed of the outdoor fun zone for the kids with the terrifying water slide.

The cost of drinks was way to high. Food needed to more home made tasting. Didnt fill like always fit in needed more things to do. The room staff was wonderful. Over all i would tell others to do it.

Very nice ship. New adults only area on deck 9 aft. Great new waterpark area with two waterslides for kids. Gym and spa are top-notch. 3 different decks suited for walking or jogging exercise. Great on-board entertainment with numerous options. A lot of art on this ship, much of it overlooked by most people. Multi-level main showroom. All the amenities we look for on a cruise.

The ship itself was recently taken out of dry dock and therefore was relatively clean and new. There were still some areas of wear and tear and the casino had very few newer machine options. There were more food options on this ship than I have experienced on other ships and the layout was very convenient.

I enjoyed everything about the cruise and the itenerary.

Overalll a great medium sized ship. Easy to navigate. Loved the new addition of the serenity area in the aft. New waterslide was fun, but useless in cold weather as the trip up the stairs and waiting in the cold wind made it not so fun. Ship shows it's age in many areas, but was alway clean.

The crew was super friendly, and the dinning staff remembered our names as well. Food was very good, but needed a just a tad more selection. The general dinning area was hit and miss sometimes, but the steakhouse (although an extra charge) was well worth it! My wife did not like the bed (said it was too thin), but I did. Hot tubs were monopolized for hours by groups of people because the water temperature was just right (hard to get in). The only hot tub that I was able to get into regularly was in the fitness center, but would have rather been in an outdoor hot tub.

The staff and service was well worth the cruise. We enjoyed our time. Glad we did it.

We tried Carnival again and were treated to the same disappointing service in the dining room and throughout the ship.

Food quality was very good, although many of the more expensive selections that were available a few years ago have been replaced with 'comfort food' choices. Smoking rules for the casino were the best I have ever seen - smoking only allowed at a few tables and selected slot machines, but the rules were not enforced. The volume on the PA system was similar to what you might encounter at a rock concert. A friend brought a sound level meter, and registered 90 decibles - officially the pain threshold and a violation of OSHA standards. The Steak House is a five star restaurant, with outstanding service and some of the best food I have ever had - from appetizer to desert.

It was a 5 day cruise to Cabo San Lucas from San Diego on the Carnival Spirit. It was a very nice cruise but our cabin was not what I expected. The brochure said that it was a cabin with a balcony but with a restricted view. I had no idea that the restricted view in this case meant that a tender was directly in our path of vision but also encroached on our space making the balcony one-third the size of a normal balcony and also making our cabin smaller than the normal cabin with a balcony. What is even more surprising is that I was supposed to get a 2 level cabin upgrade and this cabin was one of the upgrades I was given to choose from. I've had much better cabins with balconies that were not 2 level cabin upgrades. I should have selected a lower level, unrestricted view cabin with a balcony. There was another feature I did not like and that was that the bathroom and toiletries were equal only to a Motel 6. I'll know better next time not to arrange my travel through CruisesAlert with Alaska Airlines.

nice stateroom, ameneties and over all great

It was a little run down. The crew was well trained excellent service for the most part. The boat tended to rock and sway more than any other cruise I have been on.

The ship was great, the awesome slide was great but it was only open on the 6th day of our trip due to maintenance, so we didn't get much use out of it.

The Spirit is a wonderful ship. It had just come out of re-ferbishing and was very clean. The crew was exceptional especially the dining room staff. We were dissapointed with our stateroom staff. Gerald was very good for the first coupple of days and then got lazy and did not do simple task that are common for a stateroom attendant to perform.
