Review summary

Our family of 6 had fun. It was a little crowded for us. Food was just OK. We were disappointed in the Bottomless Bubbles drink plan and how the drinks were served. Cruise personnel was OK. Dion was awesome.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Fine. Lines were a little long.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Big Chicken and Guy's Burgers were good. It took forever to get a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana. The Sunset Restaurant was decent. We routinely rated the food a 6 to 7 out of 10. The market was a mad house and everything was very bland.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Hot tubs were always packed. Fitness center was good. Basketball court was ruled by teens that were not very inclusive.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The singing and dancing shows were terrible. We hoped the performances would be better with each night but they didn't. We walked out during Soulbound. All the performers were sitting in chairs singing. We couldn't watch any longer. Dion, the ship host was the highlight of entertainment. He made every activity he was involved with funny and entertaining. Comedians were too crude for us so we didn't watch them. DJs were good.

Children's Programs

My two children didn't participate in the children's programs.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward Andhi was great. Waiters were not friendly to us. Our guess is because we aren't drinkers. They acted like it was a chore to take our non-alcohol order. Then they disappeared for an hour before bringing back our drinks. One waiter from Nicaraugua was especially rude. Everyone else was nice

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was always fairly clean. There were a lot of people so it was no easy task. The design on the Lido deck has pinch-points that create difficulty passing back and forth.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin number was 9222. It was what we thought we would get. Having a balcony was great.

Ship tip

Do not get the bottomless bubbles. Not worth the price paid. Also, it felt like most of the waiters or bartenders that it was a chore to serve you. Next time we would bring our own sodas and just drink the free water, lemonade, juices, etc.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
Beside the time it took to get on the smaller boat Catalina was the highlight of our trip. We rented a golf cart and explored the island.

Ensenada, Mexico

2 out of 5
Dirty city with what got to be annoying people asking us to buy things. We got scammed by the Grupo Bar across from Papas and Beer. They offered us free drinks to come to the bar and then told us we had to pay for them once we ordered food.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
With passports it was easy and fast. With birth certificates it was an extremely long line and wait.

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Spring Break is usually very crowded. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.
