Amazing Experience Aboard and Ashore by CatalinaChao

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

For those who are new to traveling, this was a perfect first experience. You could say it was a perfect way to "get our feet wet" and inspired us to see more and do more.

Overall this was an excellent... by modfan7ny

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

Overall this was an excellent cruise. The crew was amazing, the food was good and the ride was very smooth. The only downside was there was a lot of maintenance on the Lido deck. The Apollo pool and hot tub were closed for two full days and part of a third. The main pool was closed for a day and they had to cancel the movie. The ports on this cruise were just ok.

I'm sitting in the Red... by marylandgrrl

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

I'm sitting in the Red Frog Pub as I write this waiting to disembark. Embarkation has been very organized. Was through security in 20 minutes and I had a Suite booked. I was on the Pride in January and enjoyed that cruise a lot better. I don't think I can do another one week cruise on the Pride due to limited activities and I felt that everyone was trying to sell me stuff on the ship. The Journeys cruise that I was on in January was a lot more relaxed. I would definitely do another Journeys cruise on the Pride because the entertainment was a lot better. I missed the magic shows and juggler on the Journeys. The service also seemed to lack (I had your time dining) the last night I had dinner I had a great wait staff. Very personable and attentive. Shout out to Yovanni and Luis! Excellent wait staff. The steakhouse was amazing as well as sushi. Halfway through the cruise I had dinner in the main dining room and he went to the head waitress and asked if they could sing Happy birthday to me. They never did that night so the last night we were there Yovanni said hey we saw a note in your file, after we're done with our show we want to sing Happy birthday to you! I thought that was very nice of them. This cruise definitely beats work any day of the week. Overall I had an okay time. Food was good, nothing to write home about (the baked Alaska from the MDR and smoked oysters in the steakhouse was definitely worth mentioning) The cruise director Dr E was very entertaining. They canceled a lot of activities on the lido deck due to rain. I wished they had replaced it with something else in the atrium. The shore excursions we're relaxing. Another note, half moon cay you don't need an excursion. If you want to see the island and your in decent shape you can walk the island yourself. Our excursion got canceled due to rain so we walked the island and got the same thing as if we were actually doing the hiking tour (there are little signs a long the road that tells the history of the island and it is mapped out of where the nature walk is) Freeport we did the all inclusive which was good. Definitely got my money's worth in food and alcohol lol. I think next time I will hang out at the port, do some shopping and get the discounts on the cruise ship in the spa. The port/island reminds me of Baltimore. I give this a 4 star because the lack of service on most nights in the dining room, lack of entertainment/activities to do. Grand Suite- we stayed in a Grand suite. I don't think I will stay in another GS unless it's a 2 week cruise. I find that I didn't really need the extra room for such a short cruise. The priority embarkation was nice but you get the same benefits as having FTTF except you get an extra bottle of water and 1 free laundry bag.

Just got home today. Everything... by Mlp0517

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

Just got home today. Everything was great on the Pride. It is what you make it. You can just sit and relax or do various games etc. in the Red Frog Pub, the band In The Groove was fantastic. All kinds of music. We had your time dining and managed to get Luis as our waiter most nights. He was very attentive and pleasant. The only bad meal I had, and it wasn’t terrible, was the last night. The prime rib was a little tough. Overall I would do the Pride again. Close to home, easy to get to, and easy to deal with. FTTF is definitely worth the money.

I had an amazing time!!... by Cruizer40

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

I had an amazing time!! This was my second cruise and my kids first. I wasn’t sure if they would enjoy cruising especially in April when there’s rough seas, I was happy nobody got sick. We celebrated my son’s 21st Birthday. Our favorite place was Carnival’s Half Moon Cay. The beach was amazing, white sand blue waters. The food was delicious and there were plenty of water sports to do. To my surprise my kids would like to cruise again.

Carnival Caribbean Cruise was nice. Dining room staff was wonderful and the food was good. The private island Half Moon Cay was beautiful. However, this was not up to the standards of the 2 prior RCL cruises we took. The ship was older and not as clean. by CocoasMom

Liked driving to Baltimore to get on the ship but would probably not sail with Carnival again; it just does not compare to Royal Caribbean

The Pride lives up to... by ebcruising3

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

The Pride lives up to her name! Everything was handled well on board. The crew and service staff called us by name and very helpful. Comedians fir the Comedy Club were not very good and 2nd one did not make the ship in Freeport. Food was good. I had breakfast in the dining room every day! Much better than the Lido buffet. The Vooing Demo is well worth it! You get to taste all 4 courses of food prepared and receive recipes.

Relaxing Cruise by sandy304

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Enjoyed this cruise except for Freeport. There is nothing attractive at Freeport...horrible bus ride on the way to a beach. Water is not “Caribbean” but looks more like the ocean off North Carolina. Enjoyed the spa...did teeth whitening...5 stars. Comedy club was not good and one comedian did not show up. The food tasting was great...no need for lunch that day. The Pride is still my favorite ship.
