Review summary

I'm sitting in the Red Frog Pub as I write this waiting to disembark. Embarkation has been very organized. Was through security in 20 minutes and I had a Suite booked. I was on the Pride in January and enjoyed that cruise a lot better. I don't think I can do another one week cruise on the Pride due to limited activities and I felt that everyone was trying to sell me stuff on the ship. The Journeys cruise that I was on in January was a lot more relaxed. I would definitely do another Journeys cruise on the Pride because the entertainment was a lot better. I missed the magic shows and juggler on the Journeys. The service also seemed to lack (I had your time dining) the last night I had dinner I had a great wait staff. Very personable and attentive. Shout out to Yovanni and Luis! Excellent wait staff. The steakhouse was amazing as well as sushi. Halfway through the cruise I had dinner in the main dining room and he went to the head waitress and asked if they could sing Happy birthday to me. They never did that night so the last night we were there Yovanni said hey we saw a note in your file, after we're done with our show we want to sing Happy birthday to you! I thought that was very nice of them. This cruise definitely beats work any day of the week. Overall I had an okay time. Food was good, nothing to write home about (the baked Alaska from the MDR and smoked oysters in the steakhouse was definitely worth mentioning) The cruise director Dr E was very entertaining. They canceled a lot of activities on the lido deck due to rain. I wished they had replaced it with something else in the atrium. The shore excursions we're relaxing. Another note, half moon cay you don't need an excursion. If you want to see the island and your in decent shape you can walk the island yourself. Our excursion got canceled due to rain so we walked the island and got the same thing as if we were actually doing the hiking tour (there are little signs a long the road that tells the history of the island and it is mapped out of where the nature walk is) Freeport we did the all inclusive which was good. Definitely got my money's worth in food and alcohol lol. I think next time I will hang out at the port, do some shopping and get the discounts on the cruise ship in the spa. The port/island reminds me of Baltimore. I give this a 4 star because the lack of service on most nights in the dining room, lack of entertainment/activities to do. Grand Suite- we stayed in a Grand suite. I don't think I will stay in another GS unless it's a 2 week cruise. I find that I didn't really need the extra room for such a short cruise. The priority embarkation was nice but you get the same benefits as having FTTF except you get an extra bottle of water and 1 free laundry bag.
