a wonderful honeymoon gruise by JamesA2

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I have traveled on this cruise line and Royal Carribbean numerous times. I would rate each high on rooms and service staff. but Royal Carribbean less on foods quality(not dinning room). All of the foods were very good on on this recent voyage. I would not rate the quality of the shows high as Royal Carribbean. I heard two comedies on on Royal and their were few off colored jokes as to be expected. But the comedy on this past voyage and true it said adults only but every joke was filty and if porn could be described this comedian tried her very best to do it. The music in the diffrent lounges was excellent.

A very nice cruise by DawnH56829029

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship is a little confusing at first but after a day you get use to where everything is. Our room was under Starry Nights which is a Karoke bar and you can hear the music and chairs being dragged on the floor. Very annoying. After complaining about it for a few days Carnival was able to upgrade our room to a Veranda Suite with a balcony. They were very nice and understanding. The food was very good but the Mermaid Grille area is very confusing. We found out the last 2 days there that that had a pizza area and a deli. Also if you have a soda card and you want a soda you have to find a bar which is all the way out on the Lido deck to get a drink. There is usually someone walking a round with a cart but only for ice tea, lemonade and water. The excusions are very expensive and yes (even though I was told you cant) You can get a taxi for cheap to take you to the beaches in Nassau and Freeport. Nassau was very nice. There is a Pirate museum you can walk to (dont do the excusion from the ship. Total rip off) and Senor Frogs resturaunt/bar is a happening place. Freeport is a bit of a mess. When you pull into port it is not a pretty site. Its a big industrial plant and smells a bit like rotten onions. The excusion to the beach is a not worth the money. You can take a taxi for alot cheaper and its a publice beach at Our Lucaya. We did the Alligator tour in Florida which was alot of fun. You can ride an airboat to see the Gators and then sample some Gator Tail. Very delicious.

A great cruise by AngelaI19066284

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship was great. I would not suggest the late dining because you then miss all the late shows. It would have been nice to know that anytime dining meant you had to chose anytime dining and not chose a 6:15 or 8:15 and if you didnt want to go to that you could go to anytime dining. That was a little upsetting.

The Best Vacation Ever by PeterV2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The staff and physical ship itself were both amazing. We will definitely cruise Carnival again. The food was delicious and the ship was clean. I asked my children about the previous question about what they liked the least and they all said "leaving."

A GREAT first Cruise by BobN1

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise, and it lived up to everything we have heard. The staff was WONDERFUL. Our cabin was immaculate all the time. Great job by the room steward. Service in the dinners was excellent. After the first day, we were seated at the same table and called by name. VERY NICE. The hostess service in the Casino was very good, although this is the only Casino I have ever been in that made you pay for your drinks. (They could learn from Atlantic City & Vegas) OVERALL: Excellent time. We would go back any chance we get.

FIRST OF MANY MORE TO COME by MarieA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise and from the moment we stepped on the ship (Carnival Pride) until the moment we left, words cannot express how much we enjoyed each and every second spent with Carnival. The people (from the cleaning staff to the captain) were so friendly and efficient. There was not enough they could do to make your cruise a good experience. For those who do not appreciate fine art, you do not want to cruise on the Pride. The paintings and art work throughout the ship are from the reniassance era and were not offensive as others have stated. The food was excellent the waitstaff were the best and, as stated earlier, everyone working onboard the ship were a credit to Carnival. The cabin stewards/staff were unbelievable - I have never seen so much attention to detail and the cleanliness of the ship was amazing. I will, without hesitation, recommend Carnival. We are taking away from this first cruise experience many cherished memories and the desire to sail again with Carnival. We are satisfied beyond words - WAY TO GO CARNIVAL!!!

Carnival Miracle by Av160160727

What a wonderful vacation! The ship departed from Baltimore so no flights to catch or airport issues to deal with. Port Baltimore was easy to get in and out of and the staff there was organized and top-notch.

We loved the ship. It had a lot of charisma. Food was Great. The service was good.. We were centrally located. We were close to everything. I think that is very important when you book your room. Casino was a lot of fun.

A good cruise by JeffV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was very good, staff were friendly and accomodating. Was clean and well kept. The food was good but we have had better on another cruise line. We had three good stops and the embarkation was great from Baltimore. The debarkation took longer than we thought it would, especially considering we were doing our own luggage (about 1.5 hrs)

You get what you pay for! by KathyD9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The staff of the ship excluding the Cruise Director and his staff were not knowledgable or helpfull. The food was average and inconsistent. The pools on the ship were a nightmare. They have no lifeguards so the security staff oversees them whenever they have time. The equates to not being able to jump in at one point while other times it is extrememly dangerous as preteens and teens are doing back flips in to the pool while others try to avoid getting hit by a flying body. My 7-year old son was trying to swim when an older much heavier boy dove in on top of him. The sign says no diving but since there is no one assigned to the pool the rules were a joke. The supposed slide was closed most of the time and the hours that were posted where for a different cruise. The Guest Services staff was a joke. They had no information about rental car services at ports and didn't even provide pamphlets. My son's who's last cruise experience was with Disney Cruises were extremely disappointed with the Kids Club on Carnival. They stayed for 30 minutes one day and did not want to go back. Our waiter had no personality at all. He never asked us our names in the 7-days were where sailing and he seemed to have an attitude when asked for the simplest of things. The ship is split down the middle near the pool, so half is smoking and half is non-smoking. We had to move several times because we smelled smoke. We also couldn't sit on our deck on many occassions since the people in the cabin next to us smoked constantly whenever they were on their deck.

Nice week at sea by DavidF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was a nice drive from CT - taking less then 5.5 hours, and the port was easily located off of I95. The ship was nice inside with a lot of different paintings and sculptures. My 2 year old could have rode the glass elevators all day!. The food was so so, and was not at all what we had hoped for. The deserts were very good, and was needed since the regular food left you wanting more. The staff was very friendly, and the pools were nice and were not crowded. We did the Atlantis excursion, and it was awesome. It is clearly the best water park, my daughter loved everyone of the slides. In Freeport, we did the glass bottom boat ride, and were disappointed because we didn't many animals and the viewing away was very small. The weather was perfect for our trip since we had 3 Sea days.

6 day bahamas by JohnD18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

When looking for a cruise, we wanted a relaxing break with more sea days. We chose this cruise because we could drive to the port of Baltimore in about 5 hrs(less time than taking a plane to Florida). We had never driven to a cruise before but the port of Baltimore was very easy to get to, parking was painless and was right next to the terminal. We were pleasantly surprised at the quick check-in (only about 10 minutes) and how fast we got into our cabin. The lunch provided on the Lido deck was excellent. We chose a cat 11 suite which was spacious and well laid out. The bed was very nice but the room is starting to show it's age. The lamps were broken and the carpet had some deep stains. The whirlpool tub was excellent. All of the public areas of the ship were immaculate and the ship was well laid out and easy to navigate. By far the best part of the cruise was the Carnival employees. All of them were very pleasant and always willing to help. The servers were attentive and the cabin steward was more than willing to go out of his way to make us feel comfortable. We feel the tipping was made easier by adding it to the bill at the end of the cruise even though we gave more to our cabin steward and waiter and tipped individuals during the cruise for exceptional service. This was a very inexpensive cruise but carnival made it up by overpricing just about everything else like soda cards for $42, single bingo games for $10-$20, drinks and spa treatments and the shore excursions were very expensive ( like going to a beach for $90/person with no lunch!), . The only downfall was the incessant selling from all departments. The employees must be on commission or a selling quota because some really tried the hard close. There wasn't an announcment that more than half was trying to sell things like weightloss, spa treatments, jewelry, books, etc. Wait untill the last day and all the prices go down. Overall the cruise was enjoyable and relaxing. We didn't know what to expect because the reveiws we read were all over the board. Like I said at the beginning, we chose the cruise because of the itinerery and proximity to our home but Carnival definately exceeded our expectations and after this experience, we would definately cruise Carnival again.

I would definitely sail on this ship again. The decor was very nice, not all neon and glitz. The layout of the ship was nice. The staff was great.
