An OKAY cruise by RobertT2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The staff was very friendly. The waiter was the clowest that I ever had in 6 cruises. He did have a great personallity and his assistant was great. The shows were just okay compared to other cruises. Out of my 6 cruises 5 of them were with Carnival and 1 was Royal Carribean. The Royal Carribean was the most relaxing. I had a bad experience the last 2 times that I cruised with carnival but wanted to give them one more try. This time was no different. I appreciate the fact that it is called the fun ship and they let the kids be kids however they do not have any control on the kids at all. They let them run up and down the hallways all night. My children are 18 and 20 now. I took them on many cruises when they were younger and never let them do what theses kids were doing. Its mostly the parents fault. They use the ship as a babysitter. Just cut the kids loose and see you at dinner. Totally out of control with the kids.

Fun in the Sun! by BoniB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Carnival Pride is an interesting ship. The decor is in old Italian/Roman style with lots of art, statues, very dark (colors) yet still charming. A lot of the fabric needs to be reupholstered as chairs were ripped and frayed (the chairs in the Sports Bar were in bad shape), the seating in the Taj Mahal fabric is faded and looks like Grandma's couch that has been sitting in the livingroom for the last 60 years.

Great Spring Break by KeishaB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my family's second time on the Pride. We enjoyed ourselves last year, but due to unusual circumstances, we were unable to visit Nassau. We decided to take the same cruise again because of the convenience and the opportunity to visit Nassau.

Great fun for the whole family!! by KimZ1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We traveled with our two children ages 17 & 9 and my 65 yr. old mother. Everyone enjoyed themselves, which for those of you who have traveled with family that isn't always an easy thing to accomplish. The food was great both in taste & variety. Our cabin steward was outstanding & made everyone feel right at home (especially our 9 yr. old). Entertainment was ok, shows could be better & the sound is loud. Piano bar was by far our favorite place. We snorkeled & enjoyed Margaritaville in Grand Turk. Mom snorkeled for the first time & the crew was patient with her & made sure she felt comfortable. Conch shells everywhere on the uninhabited island where we snorkeled. Half Moon Cay, fabulous! We swam with the stingrays & then had the whole rest of the day to soak up the rays & drink our Bahama Mamma's from our monkey heads!!! Missed out on Freeport due to a storm, but KUDOS to the captain. He stayed ahead of the storm & we had warm sunshine poolside all day! Our excursion money was reimbursed within hours of turning away from Freeport & heading home. I want to end by saying that this is the second time we have taken this cruise. Same ship & itinerary. We took it again because my mom wanted to go & had never traveled on a cruise before. We had a good time last year, but this year was even better. The crew seemed happier & energetic, the weather was better & this time it was just our family which made a big difference. For those who complain about the decor, well perhaps they should take an art history class to better appreciate it. Traveling out of Baltimore was easy all around. Travel time is minimal and its easy to get to. The embarkation process was organized, simple and we boarded within minutes of checking in. We carried our luggage off ourselves so, we were off the ship within an our of our floor being called to disembark. If you have never cruised before, this is a great place to start.

clean and in good repair, many areas appear dark, gloomy, may be the artwork, enjoyed the private retreat for adults, but pool could have been better

dont get excited by JeremyH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

There was nothing to do on the ship. If u like bingo or basket weaving or towel folding ...there was nothing for people who are 21 - 45. The piano bar was only open some nights and most of the nights you had to search for a bar that was opened. All of the bars should be open and should stay open at least till 1. Who cares about a flatter stomach or good posture. You need more adult swimming and need to seperate the ages on the ship...people who are 45 don't want to go to a deck party with kids who are18 or less..the ganesh you did have were for 10 people while the other couple hundred had to watch.we won't be traveling with carnival again.

Wonderful :) by Veronica4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship was clean, fun, family-friendly, all-ages-friendly, and the food was very good. There were a good variety of buffets, with good food, a dessert buffet, and 24/7 pizza, ice cream and frozen yogurt. Very nice ship, the stateroom service was exceptional, and the comedy shows were awesome.

NOISE AND BOOZE!!! by JackM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Definitely the place for people who equate fun with lots of loud music and booze everywhere. Running wild teens and drunken exhibitionists did not create a relaxing atmosphere though the staff did intervene to stop them. Parents allow children to break safety rules in pool areas such as very young children in the hot tubs for lengthy stays and chasing and horseplay. Dining staff was not as well trained as we have experienced before. Poor command of English led to numerous errors and omissions from orders. They seemed overwhelmed though they tried hard. Ship was clean and shows were excellent. Staff was helpful.
