Carnival Pride

7 Night Bahamas & Grand Turk (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail Date: April 08, 2012

Ship: Carnival Pride

Cabin Type: Balcony

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Review Summary

Carnival Pride is an interesting ship. The decor is in old Italian/Roman style with lots of art, statues, very dark (colors) yet still charming. A lot of the fabric needs to be reupholstered as chairs were ripped and frayed (the chairs in the Sports Bar were in bad shape), the seating in the Taj Mahal fabric is faded and looks like Grandma's couch that has been sitting in the livingroom for the last 60 years.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was good given that it was prepared for 2000+ people at one time. If you get to the Lido grills (buffets) early you are guaranteed fresh. Going later is a gamble.

Entertainment was well entertaining! The costumes, lighting and shows were a welcome diversion although they canceled the big show due to the pyrotechnics staff being out ill. Disappointing!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our 15 year old participated in Club O2 and had a blast making new friends, attending the activities and dancing every night away!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff service was excellent! Friendly, called you by name, willing to chat with you and always service with a smile!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Balcony staterooms are the only way to go. It was nice to get up and sit out on the balcony with my cup of coffee and welcome the new day! Also very convenient for nude sunbathing with all those youngsters around!

Pros: Weather was beautiful, ports of call interesting

Cons: too many screaming, running kids

Recommends Carnival Pride? Yes!
