Had a great time with great friends! by sgt15rls

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Great cruise. Never took one out of Baltimore before. Embarkation and Debarkation was very smooth and not a hassle. Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay were great. The water and service at Half Moon Cay was OUTSTANDING! Not sure why Carnival even goes to Freeport. The island is dirty people selling their souvenir’s were extremely pushy. None of the taxi’s would take you anywhere until they had enough to fill a 10 passenger van. They made you wait which waisted a lot of the short time the ship was in port. It would have been better to spend the whole day at Grand Turk and then Half Moon Cay and skip Freeport.

Fun! by soccerry17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We really enjoy the Carnival Pride. This is our third trip on it. The Pride has been updated with the 2.0 program. Most notable was the Guys Burger and the large movie screen. Our two girls really enjoyed the balcony. Our oldest at 4 years played in the camp during the day. Our youngest (1) stayed with us during the day. At night both could do the night owls program for a small (well worth it) fee. This provided an opportunity for us to go to the punchline comedy shows which are the highlight for us as far as shipboard entertainment goes. Plan on cruising the Pride gains this June.

Fun in the Sun by Sbuzzer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Cruised with wife and 2 adult children. Not gamblers or partiers so we spent a lot of time going to shows, comedy clubs, listening to bands, playing trivia and hanging out on deck 10 (above the pools. Would be disappointed if we wanted to go in the pool as too many people parked themselves and never left or gave anyone an opportunity to use the pool area. Fortunately we own a pool at home so it didn't impact us much. Dr E was a great CD as were the fun crew (Blake, Lyndsey and Frantastic). We love Half Moon Cay, one of the nicest beaches we've ever been on and Grand Turk is also very nice. Not a huge fan of Freeport. We were only there from 7-1 so it didnt seem like there would be long enough to explore any of the beach excursions. Perhaps if we were there longer. Overall we had a great time on this cruise although I wish there were different ports of call. Can't wait to book another Carnival cruise

Amazing Carnival Pride Cruise by AbbyStraight

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The people on the boat and even on the boat were more than nice. The staff in Normandies made sure we enjoyed our dinner every single night. Huseyin and Sila were two of the best waiters on the ship. The food was amazing, and the ship was as clean as it could be. It was my first cruise and it was great. I can’t wait to go on another Carnival cruise.

Best cruise ever! This is my second cruise on the Pride...2012 and the past week. I enjoyed the MDR better this time....thanks to James Bond & MacBeth! The food and service were great! All the new changes were great....from the waterpark, the entertainment, Breakfast with Dr. Seuss and the Candy store....just great!

I still give them 5... by TiaBoo

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

I still give them 5 stars because everyone from the people on our boat, to the staff, to the cruise director (Dr. E.) were fun and friendly. I also enjoyed my room, my room steward, the food, and the ports we visited. I haven’t sailed on the Pride since 2012, and since then they had some many restorations/changes (for the good), that made me glad that I decided to cruise again with them. Pros: 1. Room Service menu was way better. Some food items had a fee, but so worth it. 2. The Guy Fieri Burgers/Blue IguanaTaco lines stayed crowded...Why?...because the food was that GOOD! They also added a Bonsai Sushi Bar that kept a crowd as well. 3. They added a water park and new adventure slide to the back of the boat! 4. The Candy Store (if you have a sweet tooth like me) had a good variety of candy...mostly gummy though. 5. The SkyBox sports bar was way more upscaled and had a video game unit in it. You could also order bar food there...I think. CONS 1. Carnival Hub/WiFi was in and out. I wouldn’t recommend getting it. Just go old school walk-talkie with your family and grab a Fun-Times to keep up with stuff on the boat. Besides we are on a cruise for just that...a vacation. I just wanted to try it out since it was offered, but don’t waste your money. 2. Arcade: Not great to me. Limited arcade games with ridiculous prices (like $1 to $2 to $4 and $6 dollar games). Too expensive for my blood. They had days when the prices would drop to a more reasonable price...like $0.50 etc. but after 12 noon the price went back up. What happen to the old school arcade games where you just played for fun? Most of the games were games where you were trying to win apple products/go pro items...and less arcade games. 3. Tender process to Half-Moon Cay could have been a little more smoother (a lot of time wasted). Perhaps they should give everyone a zone ticket the day before or when we initially board the ship. Everyone (not doing and excursion) had to meet on the Lido deck at 8:30 am to get a zone number. It wasn’t unorganized or anything, but could have been a little better. That’s it in a nutshell. I would recommend ANYONE to go on this cruise and have fun!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Great cruise by ailani01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Every one on the cruise, including who worked on the cruise was great. There is nothing bad I could say about the workers, every one was so pleasant apart from the pizza guy my husband said. I would travel on the pride again.

Better than the reviews by Erniejug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was the right size ship for our trip. Food was very good & plentiful. You can not go hungry. Staff was friendly & courteous. The things I saw that need attention are: a way to avoid people falling around the pools, floors get very slippery, and better monitoring of decks 9&10. The “brat packs” seem to gather together and try to take over the ping pong & corn hole tables. They get loud & rowdy hogging the games, to the point of throwing the bean bags everywhere except on the boards until they break them. This doesn’t help anyone else waiting to play.

Not as good as past cruises by ksquare

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my fifth time on Pride and it was a bit of let down. Before you judge my review, know I travel quite a bit and always with an open mind. Now with that being said, Pride has been showing its age for awhile. I had a balcony room for my daughter (10 y.o.) and myself. We couldn’t really sit and relax because the tarp above us was ripped and would flap violently in the wind. The main dining room staff was excellent as always but the food was average. Between the two of us, we ordered steak about four times and every time they were extremely well done when we’d ordered medium rare to medium. We had a problem with our bathroom lights but that was fixed almost immediately. Half Moon Cay is absolutely gorgeous but I would like to see a change in the bbq menu, not that critical though. However, if it’s a Carnival island, why aren’t drinks included for those who had purchased the drink package? Overall, the cruise was fine but it’s about that time where I may have to choose a different avenue for vacations. Pride is fun for party goers or like the bar scenes, or for gamblers. Otherwise, there’s not much to do during the day (on sea days) that doesn’t include drinking or gambling, yes, bingo is a form of gambling. However, I will commend the kids’ camp as my daughter had a great time as usual.

Having cruised in the past, I was disappointed at the lack of activities. We like to keep moving and actually got bored on sea days. Ship us old and small. Won’t sail in this ship again.

The current CD on the... by AngelaK502

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Pride

The current CD on the Pride is awesome! We absolutely loved the Reverend Dr. E (Eversen Bevelle)! The dining was pretty good too. On recent Carnival cruises, it has taken up to two hours for dinner in the MDR but this time we were usually done in 1:15 tips.

Great cruise! by Gigi1025

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

This was our first carnival cruise. We had no expectations because of mixed reviews. Have to say food was very good, service was excellent, and we really had a great time. Our cruise director Dr E was amazing and just made our trip so much fun. Will definitely go on the Pride again. Was very easy embarking and debarking in Baltimore. Overall great cruise!
