Review summary

This was my fifth time on Pride and it was a bit of let down. Before you judge my review, know I travel quite a bit and always with an open mind. Now with that being said, Pride has been showing its age for awhile. I had a balcony room for my daughter (10 y.o.) and myself. We couldn’t really sit and relax because the tarp above us was ripped and would flap violently in the wind. The main dining room staff was excellent as always but the food was average. Between the two of us, we ordered steak about four times and every time they were extremely well done when we’d ordered medium rare to medium. We had a problem with our bathroom lights but that was fixed almost immediately. Half Moon Cay is absolutely gorgeous but I would like to see a change in the bbq menu, not that critical though. However, if it’s a Carnival island, why aren’t drinks included for those who had purchased the drink package? Overall, the cruise was fine but it’s about that time where I may have to choose a different avenue for vacations. Pride is fun for party goers or like the bar scenes, or for gamblers. Otherwise, there’s not much to do during the day (on sea days) that doesn’t include drinking or gambling, yes, bingo is a form of gambling. However, I will commend the kids’ camp as my daughter had a great time as usual.

Thanks ksquare! I’m on deck 4, so that won’t be my stateroom. Pride is my favorite ship but I haven’t been on her in 3 years, so I’m looking forward to it.

It is going into dry dock soon.

Room 8200. It didn’t ruin my vacation either, I was merely pointing out reasons why the ship was showing its age. Enjoy your vacation!

What room were you in? I’m sailing in August in a balcony room and hope I don’t have a ripped tarp flapping over my head! It won’t ruin my vacation because I have fun no matter what, but I am curious.

Ksquare this is a very honest and accurate review. That is what people want when they come on this site. I agree fully with you. We were on the Pride in November 17" and the ship does need some updating. We still had a very good time. But for newer cruisers I would never recommend the Pride. I would guide them to a newer ship. Thanks for the review.

RH - My daughter and I ordered one each on the first and last night, mine being med rare while hers were med, yet both overlooked. With plenty of options, there was no way was I going to order steak every day.

Not to sound mean but think you should have stopped after the second Steak because the first one was bad and the second one was bad. what would make a person think a 3rd one would be any different. Just saying. I do know what you mean been on many ships and it has gone down hill. The staff are still great from all the ships I've been on. Have a safe trip on your next vacation on the high seas.
