Review summary

This was our 3rd cruise and we love the Pride and was excited to see it after dry dock refurbish last year. Biggest issue was they removed the bar from the casino area, meaning if you earn casino points for free drinks which are only available from the casino, your only option is to be playing at a machine and wait for a server to come around taking drink orders. Previously you could go right up to the casino bar and order a drink, and also i met my husband on my first cruise at that bar -- so it was sentimenal! Anyway, it often took nearly an hour for them to come around and then another half hour to come back with your drink -- def needed more waitstaff if they are going to operate this way.

Embarkation

Although we planned to depart from Baltimore, the departure from Norfolk due to the Key Bridge was fairly painless. Carnival credited us $100 l/stateroom for the change which pretty much covered the change is gas it took us to drive the farther distance.

Casino Bar

Missed having a dedicated bar in this area. Made players club points less worth it. Servers were good, just not enough of them.

Normandie Restaurant

Great food and wonderful staff. Favorites from the dining room included crab cake, beef wellington and braised pork chop.

@Shh813 we always operated under the all ships are boats but not all boats are ships rule. Plus being a stickler and correcting people is for fuddy-duddies. Cheers!

You received a credit for the port charge and taxes for not going to Half Moon Cay. Hope you get to go another time. The most beautiful beach you’ll ever see. And FYI, it’s a ship, not a boat.
