Overall, we great experiences on this cruise!
Pros: friendly staff, clean ship, drink package was great, easy to get a chair by the pool, lots of fun ports
Cons: food options were more limited than in the past
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were able to walk right to the service desk at the embarkation time we reserved and were on the ship within 30 minutes after.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Some of the food in the main dining room was excellent and some was just ok. I was surprised that the Lido buffet had the same exact items as the dining room, so if you didn't like what was on the menu the only other options were salad, pizza, or a sub.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Three pools and a water slide - was able to find a chair every time. There was also mini-golf, lots of trivia options, and games (Bingo, scavenger hunts).
Entertainment
5 out of 5
There were 2 PG and 2 adult comedy shows each night as well as stage shows or game show options.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and offered excellent service.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Carnival Pride's layout is easy to navigate. The public areas were clean. We even did the Behind the Scenes tour and can attest the kitchen and storage areas were clean and organized.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Typically sized Spirit-class balcony cabin. Shower is very small. Lots of storage - 2 hanging closets + 1 with shelf and multiple drawers/cabinets to put stuff in. There is only 1 outlet in the cabin, so be sure to bring a power strip. We were lucky and had new lamps that included USB charging ports; the rest of our party did not have these in their cabins.
Ship tip
Internet connection was awesome - even for streaming (but costs extra)
Our excursion visited AJ's Monkeys and Sloths; It was so much fun to hold sloths and interact with capuchian monkeys! Our friends took a short walk from the ship to the beach and enjoyed their day there.
Belize has the 2nd largest coral reef, so it is a must to get out on the water! On our snorkeling excursion, we saw starfish, conchs, tropical fish, nurse sharks, and stingrays.
There are lots of places to shop and restaurants right outside of the pier. We went to Chankanaab Park and booked a dolphin and sealion interaction directly from Dolphin Discovery. My only complaint is that it would have been nicer if we were in port longer (we were there from 7am-2:30pm)!
