Overall we had a great time! This was our daughter's first cruise and she did not want to leave. The crew was great but the food was a disappointment. Really enjoyed these ports as well.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had the 12:00-12:30 time and it moved soooo fast. By far the smoothest embarkation I have ever experienced.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was the only disappointment we had on this trip. We usually love eating in the MDR but after the poor experience the first 2 nights we only ate there once more on the last elegant night and one sea day brunch. Service there was slow and the food just was not good. We ended up eating the buffet the rest of the time or Guys Burgers. All the drinks from the bars we had were great though.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the pools and the fact there were 2 separate main ones. Our daughter loved the water slides too and the splash pad area.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We had a great time attending different activities. Our favorite was the PG comedy shows with our 11 year old daughter. Spike was the best comic in my opinion. The rest of the entertainment was great also. We went to some other shows and the deck parties. Had a great time.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Our daughter really enjoyed camp ocean. She was the oldest in there at 11 though and there were not many children on this cruise. She did get bored at times but she had the option to check herself in/out so she would come and go as she pleased.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward Agnelo was great! All the staff we encountered were very friendly. Our daughter made friends with several of the photography/pixels staff. They all went out of their way to speak to her everyday and make her laugh.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very very very clean ship. Staff were constantly cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Loved this 4K "interior" room. We actually had a pretty decent view as well between the life boats
Ship tip
Have fun. This is a smaller ship that is easy to navigate after a day. The staff love their ship too.
Unfortunately for us it rained most of the time we were there but that can't be helped. We booked a calypso train excursion through carnival. It was just "okay". The guide was knowledgeable of the area but the tour was kinda dull. I won't say I ever felt unsafe but I don't think we would wander around this area on our own outside of the port. The port area was fine. A little crowded but with the rain most people were hanging out inside shops and stuff.
We used public transportation. $2 per person each trip. Just know if you do this you are at the mercy of the driver and his chosen route. We stressed a little getting back to the port because the drivers van was full and he went to the port last. We were glad we left 7 mile beach in time to account for that. On the good notes, the turtle sanctuary was awesome. I booked tickets just through their site directly. After we finished there we went and spent the rest of the day at 7 mile beach. Got 3 chairs and an umbrella for $25 down the beach a ways from the main entrance and parking lot. Tried a local food truck and it was amazing. Overall the people were a little pushy here. More than I expected from this area.
We booked an excursion directly through "AJs Monkey and Sloths". They did forget to pick us up from the port so it didn't start off great but the taxi drivers were able to call AJs for us after we waited past time. AJs agreed to pay the taxi drivers fare to get us there. Once we arrived they were VERY apologetic. Our experience went way better after that. We had fun with all the animals and then had a tour around the island by one of AJs very nice guides. This is a beautiful island and we would absolutely love to go there again.
We love Cozumel. Mr Sanchos is always our go-to booked through shore excursioner. There were jellyfish all in the water though so that made it a little tough on swimming so we just spent a lot of time in the pool. Had a great time there.
