Review summary

We had a verry nice time and loved the lay-out from the Carnival Pride but food and tendering to/from ports were terrible. We had 5 tenderports (out of 7 ports) and we noticed a lot of unsafe behaviour from the Carnival crew.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived early and were able to board at 11am. Verry easy with the verifly app.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We had the cheers package; drinks were good. Food was only good during lunch at the buffet. Diner buffet was verry limited (nothing healthy provided only fastfood like pizza, tosti, burgers, hot dogs,...). MDR was ok but a lot of low quality products and some of the food was cold (pasta). We didn't expect much from the food but it's the first time there was so little choice.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most of the staff were verry friendly and helpfull. Only a few were extremely arrogant and lazy. Staff on the tender boats were not well trained and we noticed some verry unsafe situations (like loading 10 wheelchairs on 1 tenderboat, both exit's were totally blocked).

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We liked the lay-out with the 3 pools. The serenity area was verry nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We enjoyed our balcony cabin. It was spacious and clean.

Ship tip

Use the Carnival App. It was verry usefull for making reservations at the MDR.

Ports of call

Reykjavik, Iceland

5 out of 5
We arrived 2 hours late in port and had to wait another 1,5 hours in a line to get of. We were still able to meet IGtours for our planned golden circle tour in a minivan. We had a verry nice time.

Grundarfjordur, Iceland

5 out of 5
We did the Carnival excursion 'Archipelago cruise to Breidafjordur' and had a nice time. We saw a lot of puffins and other birds. We fished and ate clams and sea urchins.

Akureyri, Iceland

5 out of 5
We booked the Wonders of the north with IGtours and had a nice time. We also enjoyed our stop for a swim at the natural baths.

Seydisfjordur, Iceland

5 out of 5
We booked a local fishing boat and were able to fish a lot(!) of cod. We got the cod fillets and had them prepared in a local restaurant. Best meal!

Holyhead, Wales

5 out of 5
We booked a coasteering trip and had a wonderfull morning (swimming in the sea, jumping of high cliffs,...)

Belfast, Northern Ireland

5 out of 5
We visited the titanic museum and had a drink/lunch at a beer garden.

Stornoway, Isle Of Lewis, Hebrides

5 out of 5
We booked a local RIB boat tout and saw a lot of wildlife (dolphins, puffins, seals,...)

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We did self disembarkation but were not allowed to get of. There were no busses available to the airport (traffic jam) but we just needed to get to our car just in front of the cruiseship. Altough captain/cruisedirector told we were allowed to get of (no transfer needed) staff had no idea what to do. People got angry and frustrated. Terrible to be in the middle of this. Note; you have to leave your cabin by 6.15am! We were able to leave at 8.30am but most people were still waiting for the transfer to the airport.
