Review summary

After not cruising for over 2-1/2 years I had a fantastic time cruising with my adult daughter making memories to last our lifetime.

Embarkation

Other than the stress from the covid test results embarkation went smooth. Had all our ducks in a row regarding paperwork and it was smooth sailing. Made our appointment and experienced zero problems.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Let’s just say I did not lose any weight on this cruise with my adult daughter. While she was hitting the gym and walking track I was not. Now I’m not saying that I loved everything at every meal, But I always could find something that I liked. Best meal = the lobster tails. Yes, I had Guys Burgers and yes, they were good. Ate a lot in the main dining and did hit up the Buffett as well. No complaints here.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I did not participate in slot of activities, but… We did go to a seminar on Peter Max and I learned a lot more about him and his art. Also, there was a violin trio that did a Beatles Tribute show and that was great! I believe their name was the Emerald Trio.

Entertainment

Best musicians on the ship by far… The Emerald Trio. Violins, who would have thought? But then again I do love the 2 Chellos! I wish they were onboard.

Service and Staff

Best server: Junnell 🦞 🦞 Best cabin steward: Adrian Best funshop employee: Sam ⌚️

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
For an older ship I must say that it was pretty clean. Of course there was some rust on my balcony, so I will say there is ALWAYS room for improvement. Didn’t let it wreck my day or cruise for that matter.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Aft balcony cabin provided great views and was kept immaculate by our cabin steward. Plenty of room for two people, comfy bed, hot shower, and great location. On deck 5 we were like in the middle so dining downstairs or going up to deck 9 Serenity Area were only a short distance from our cabin.

Ports of call

Belize City, Belize

Spectacular snorkeling at Rendevouz Caye 45 minute boat ride from ship to location. Great guided snorkeling with knowledgeable staff. I’m not a beginner, but not an expert either and so find it most helpful to do with the guides as they know the best spots and share their experience. Lunch was a burger snd rum punch, but they give other beverages that you can buy and a small display of souvenirs. My only complaint is that wish the excursion was longer, but we did have sufficient time there to relax before returning to the ship. There is an area for swimming, bathrooms, and plenty of shade. Don’t forget your sunblock and towels. They do provide decent snorkeling equipment.

Cozumel, Mexico

I love Cozumel! Great shopping there. We went to a beach club and enjoyed our day. There are several to choose from and I have my favorite. They are all just a short cab ride away and their fees vary. Paid about $17 each way by cab. This was not a Carnival sponsored excursion. Just keep track of ships time and enjoy!

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We went to Gumbalimba Park and Beach Break excursion, Tabyana Beach is great, and if you like monkeys and macaws 🦜 then you will enjoy this, I know I did. There’s a bit of walking involved, so there is your fair warning.

Tampa, Florida

No complaints. I enjoyed every port.

Disembarkation

If you can… self assist is the way to go! Literally walked right off the ship at 8am.
