Review summary

I regret getting the Bubbles Package. You can not get mocktails and it was hard to find a waiter - they did not come around often and if you did order, it was a twenty minute wait for the drink. Cabin was comfortable and clean. Room steward was excellent. Night shows were disappointing not for lack of talent but for no imagination. Other cruises offered better shows. Comics were good. But why did they have Hasbro shows geared towards children??? It would have been more fun if geared towards adults and have the kid show in the afternoon.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was never hot in the main dining room. Steak was good, lobster was tough, "baked" potato was not soft. Food in general was bland. The deli, brugers and pizza were very good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
pool s were nice but kids overran the hot tub. Bingo was fun.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Poor in comparison to other cruise lines.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Room stewards were great. We got the bottom bubbles program. Don't waste your money. It takes forever to get something to drink unless you go to the bar. Waiters at evening dining did not understand the concept of coffee with desert. Food was cold to the touch. They often bought the sauces for the entrees when you were almost done.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Layout was convenient. I would suggest more hand sanitizer stations.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was very comfortable as were the beds.

Ship tip

Ship feels old. Size was good for getting around. Food selection in the buffet area was good. Pizza and Guy burgers were excellent. Dessert bar always closed quickly . They would ignore you if they were removing a cake even if you had been on line for it. They do serve orange juice for free in the morning.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
Boarded here. Ran smoothly.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
Beautiful island. They served lunch in a pavilion of hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken which was strange as there were chickens wondering all over. Water was cold though.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Nice city, hired a taxi for $25/pp who took us on a tour of the island which included stopping at Atlantis hotel (beautiful!). We usually do this. Much cheaper and you can negotiate the price per head.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

2 out of 5
It appears to be just a refuel stop. Just had the usual port shops.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No hassels, comfortable waiting areas including a smoking area.

Any bar can get you a soda. I had no problems getting soda. And I would imagine afternoon shows for children would've been met with some criticisms too. A cruise, or any vacation, is not one size fits all. That being said, if you like cruising, try one of the big ships.
