Review summary

Thank you for a pleasant first cruise with my family!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Had a little trouble when the passport name didn't exactly match the cruise log (was missing the suffix)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Enjoyed eating in the dining room each night. Buffets had a huge variety of food. The Pizza Pirate was rather inefficient when they had to go to the back to make the pizzas. Would have been simpler if oven were closer.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Enjoyed Serenity and comedians, as well as live music. However, some programs were direct sales from the vendors and I was very disappointed in them from the Spa and particularly the Art

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedians were great. Stage shows were okay. "In the Groove" were phenomenal. Fluffy was a great host.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wow-- Jolly was a terrific room steward. Fluffy was fun and even when there were issues she handled them with kindness and professionalism. Miran and his team from the dining room were fabulous. The staff in the buffet areas were incredibly positive and cheerful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of all areas. Liked that there were many decks and balconies for rooms. Serenity could use some TLC

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was larger than I expected. Loved the balcony. Plenty of storage. Liked the thermostat on the shower. Jolly brought us extra pillows which were welcome in a rather soft bed. What I did not like was the noise from the Lido deck above, but understandable.

Ship tip

Get a balcony. Research the ports of call. There are plenty of activities to do yourself in port without having to take an excursion.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

Start and end. Parking is expensive.

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
Liked docking at the beach. Interesting stores around plaza. Stayed on more quiet side of beach under palm trees. Beyond the perimeter, though, the island looks as if it still may be recovering from hurricanes. Dogs on the beach were a little scary.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
The launches were a pain, but the island area was beautiful. Would have helped to know where the lunch was being put out ahead of time because if you were on the other side of the dock it was quite a walk. And please remind the jetski people to be kind to those who wander into their pathway. The area was not well marked and the driver was running folks over.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Just stayed within the small shopping area. Did not know how to access the beach. Please include maps.

Disembarkation

Not bad at all. Very organized.
