We have been sailing on the Carnival Pride twice before and did enjoy it mostly after the last refurbishment. This time it showed significant signs of wear as for example the sealant on the balcony door. On the journey back we were on the wind side and the loud whistle that the draft created kept us awake for two nights. Also the mattresses were way too soft and got to warm. The food was okay but nothing really great. We were happy about our table for two that we were able to get every evening, probably because we were always early. However, we hated the ambient around us in the dining room because so many people just ignore the dress code. The staff of course, is not enforcing it - not even on formal nights. We felt kind of foolish for having brought proper clothes with us.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We love the convenience of sailing out of Baltimore. We were just surprised how bad the streets are around the port. Apparently they are not maintained and have not been repaired in many years.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We have been on the Pride for the 3rd time and noticed a slow but steady decline in the food selections and quality.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The only activity I would have been interested in is swimming but the pool was dirty. I used it once and there were "things" floating up from the ground, possibly female hygiene articles. I assume Carnival has cut back on staff.
Entertainment
The program just was not appealing to us.
Children's Programs
no children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everybody we interacted with was very friendly and hard working.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The Pride has her best days behind her. We enjoyed the ship short after her last refurbishment but now it is certainly due for another.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
We liked the location of our cabin and thought we lucked out with the rather large balcony. However, the paint was chipped off the wall in large pieces and the balcony door is not sealed properly so the wind is loudly whistling through it.
6 Ships were docking there and they all left at the same time which created a bad backup at the immigration. They should really spread those times . We would have loved to stay a little longer in Nassau!
We wear tuxedos and gowns on formal nights. Love it. Feel a little sorry for the people who don't enjoy that, or who are not inclined to take the opportunity to impress their spouses, but it's their loss. Doesn't ruin my night.
i always make myself think i'm the most beautiful person on the ship, so i always drress up and don't even mind being looked at as if i'm crazy. i enjoy
