We had hoped it would be good value for money, and it was. But it was much better than we expected in many ways. The Pride's balcony room was nicer than "premium" lines balcony rooms we have used, and the cabin staff was better. The Lido buffet's entrees were very good, and its deli was excellent.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Except for a couple of very confused Carnival shore staff mismanaging lines before security, the embarkation was efficient if loud.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The Lido buffet was much better than we expected. It and the nearby Cantina also served much better entrees than the Normandie main dining room.
Onboard Activities

Pools are tiny, especially Serenity, and have no steps in or out (only vertical ladders). The so-called whirlpools had few jets and were just warm, although they beat the super cold swimming pools on this New Years cruise. Only the whirlpool in the Spa, open to anyone for free, was worthy of the name.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The singing dancers are an acquired taste. The small ensembles and comedians were excellent.
Service and Staff

Our room stewards were great.
Ship Quality

We were quite surprised at how nice the Pride's common areas were. They are not gaudy or over-decorated, and the refined art deco look seemed well done. Everything worked well. And the non-glass elevators were amazingly quick to whisk you from floor to floor. The glassed atrium elevators were a bit slower, but that allowed you to enjoy the view.
Cabin / Stateroom

Somewhat larger than we expected, and the beds and bath were very comfortable. Very clean, and nicely furnished.
The Carnival Pride is our favorite ship. Have sailed 4 times, twice on a Journey cruise. Love the balconies and the Lido buffet lines are never long as on some of the other Carnival Cruises.
