Review summary

All in all we had a wonderful time on our cruise. Weather was Beautiful and seas were calm. We did not let the little things bring us down, but in the future I will stick with Royal Caribbean for my cruises.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Arrived at the port around 10:30 am and was told would have to leave could not start parking until 11:00 am. After leaving and getting lost in Baltimore because I was not familiar with the area made it back to the port around 11:45. From there on out the embarkation was a pretty easy and quick process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining experience was mediocre, variety of food was poor. Breakfast was the same every morning at the buffet. Dinner variety was not much for someone who does not like seafood. Food was good just the same every night. We had late seating and was told that was better because they would not rush since there was not another seating after you, wrong... We felt rushed every night, they even took our plates away a few times before we were even finished with eating. Enjoyed our waiter and assistant, but service was very slow. They seemed to giving most of their attention to the table next to us. Some nights we ordered before that table even got seated and they always had their food way before us. Just didn't seem to have the service that we have received on other cruises.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not much to do on this ship, but that was ok because we like just laying around on the deck people watching. Spent a lot of time at the serenity which we very much enjoyed.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows was not so great the first night so we did not attend any after that, but they had a comedy club that we went to every night which was a blast.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room Steward was great, greeted you every day by name. Room was always clean and always had fresh ice morning and afternoon. Enjoyed the waiters, but again felt service was slow and that they were more interested in keeping the table beside us happy. Felt rushed a lot.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was old but at first glance it looked very nice. You could see the age of the ship after you started looking, but it was nice. The common areas were clean, but the pool area, serenity, and buffet area were not very clean. Always had used plates and old food lying around. Had to ask to have someone clean an area for us in the serenity just so we could sit down because a group of people had left mounds of plates, food and drinks just lying on the chairs. A few times at the buffet someone had spilled plates of food and even a bowl of soup and all they did was throw a towel over it and left it lay for over an hour.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Extended balcony stateroom was great, room was always clean Room Steward was excellent.

Ship tip

This ship is an older ship and is showing its age, but is clean and looks nice at first glance. Entertainment is not great, but Comedy club is a must see. If you are just looking for a relaxing time while on board this is a good ship for that, but if you are looking for lots of entertainment I would not choose this ship.

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved the private beach. Water was beautiful. The only thing I did not like was they had chairs already set up and they were crammed very close together.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Went to paradise Island, was beautiful.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Took an excursion snorkel and dolphin encounter. Was great really enjoyed interacting with the dolphin, Water was a little choppy during the snorkel, but saw a lot of colorful fish. Loved it.

Disembarkation

I have been on many cruises and I would have to say this was the worst experience. We chose the carry off luggage so we didn't have to wait to disembark. On all other cruises if you carry off your luggage you stay in your room until they make the announcement and than you are free to leave, This cruise we had to leave our room and go to the theater to wait to be called. They also called you by deck level which meant you had to wait around to disembark. It was a nightmare. There were so many people crammed into the theater with all their luggage you could hardly move. Probably if you checked into this it would have been against fire code because if something would have happened no way could you have gotten out.
