Review summary

The ship is older than others we have been on but it is comfortable. We enjoyed a lot of time on our private balcony as well as other out door areas of the ship. We were blessed to have some outstanding crew members taking care of us.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Parking right next to the ship was an excellent feature at a fair price. Having to walk uphill several stories on the gangplank after winding through long lines was extremely difficult for a senior citizen like me. It is the first cruise I have taken that didn't have an escalator.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good variety of choices.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Serenity pool area, Alchemy lounge, main lobby lounge, piano bar, walking track. Serenity pool area was our favorite.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the entertainer in the piano bar.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The entire staff seemed to be hard working and engaged, however, there are a few people who we found to be exceptional - Darell and Santiago in the Normandie, Wilson in Lido restaurant and Riccardo our room steward. These men added so much to our trip - we can not praise them enough. On the negative side, we found it difficult to get good information or a correct order from Room Service. We also were given incorrect information on a drink package special that was advertised for the first 2 days from Guest Services. We were told to stop into one of the bars to get prices instead of purchasing it in the Candy shop.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We appreciated how clean our room and the ship was. The staff worked continually to keep it clean and the waiters cleared the tables continually.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cleanliness and size great. Our steward was fantastic. The bed was pretty comfortable but getting a little soft.

Ship tip

Make sure to get a balcony - it is worth the extra $.

Disembarkation

The process was handled well by the crew and the port people, however, the long gang plank was an issue.
