Review summary

Absolutely wish we had done this years ago! It was awesome and I actually hated to get off the ship. I can't stop thinking about it and what a great time it was since we have gotten home. Looking to book another one very soon!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
There were some type issues with the computer system, causing the staff to check everyone in manually. It was a lengthly wait for our 3 & 7 year olds, but we all survived the wait with the help of "fruit roll ups!"

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room was nothing short of outstanding. The menu selections were endless and the food was very good! (Especially on the first formal night which lobster was on the menu, and I'm not ashamed to say I ate 3 of them!) Our waiter Steven was superb! He made sure everyone was happy with their meals, several times through out our dinner. Loved the "Sea Day Brunch" which is also served in the main dining room. The buffet was excellent as well. There was something for everyone with a wide variety of many many choices. The 24hr pizza was absolutely delicious (I had my share)

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools were clean and very well maintained. However, 2 of the 3 pools were closed at the same time for the same reason one day. Someone vomited in each one. The slides and Water works were a HUGE hit for our kids 3 & 7. There were movies each night on the Ledo deck, with popcorn and blankets. If you get bored on the Pride, it's your own fault! There are so many activities daily, I even missed several that I really wanted to see and or do. Halloween on the ship was fantastic! There were a ton of activities for both the adults and the kids thru out the entire day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Every single show we were able to see, were very entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed them! Saffie our cruise director, was awesome with being sure you were entertained, every single day!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Camp carnival was excellent! Not a worry in the world! The staff was excellent and very kid oriented. It was a HUGE hit for our 7 yr old. In fact, she spent more time there then with us! She would go first thing in the morning no matter how much we begged her to spend the day with us. She actually missed one port entirely and 1/2 a day at another port because she was so into camp carnival! Our 3 yr old was not too fond of it, due to wanting to be with mommy and daddy 24/7 (mainly daddy)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Can't say enough good about every single person from our room steward to our waiter at dinner to the customer service desk and everyone in between. Every single staff member we encountered, were extremely accommodating, curtious, professional and ALWAYS got service with a smile!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Took a few days to get used to knowing how to navigate around the ship, but it was fun getting lost at times but being able to see other parts of the ship at the same time. The ship has a beautiful decor and very well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was a little small, but we were prepared for that, as our veteran cruise friends told us prior. The bed was very comfortable. In fact I slept very well every single night. There were two additional beds besides our king size bed for the kids. The top bunk was actually stored in the ceiling and our room steward Christopher, would put it up for us during the day and pull it down at night. We would never stay in any cabin less than having a balcony. We absolutely loved having our balcony and were able to see so much from being on it. It was very relaxing to sit out there.

Ship tip

Make sure you take advantage of as many activities as you can. Don't miss any opportunity that is offered!

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
Only at this port to embark. We only live 15 mins away.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Could have stayed on the ship for this port. We could take it or leave it. The locals were very pushy about trying to sell you their items, especially in the straw market.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Enjoyed our day here. The water was beautiful, the beach was clean and the photo opportunities were endless! The lunch provided by the crew members was outstanding!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

5 out of 5
Loved this port! Wish we had more time to spend there!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It is very well organized, and ran very smoothly. Just wish it didn't take so long waiting in the common areas, for your number to be called to the gangplank for disembarkation.

Good that you enjoyed your first cruise. It is a wonderful way to vacation. Maybe on suggestion: Don’t be too quick to disregard the other type cabins. They all have the pros and cons. For example many of us choose an inside cabin even though we might prefer a balcony. We have found that the difference in cost will allow us to take that third cruise for the cost of two in a balcony cabin or the dollars saved will pay for two excursions for both of us or the difference may even pay for a big portion of your air flight. We have chosen an inside cabin on a deck that allows us to be a 30 second walk to an outside deck. Trust me the view from that deck is much better than any balcony that I have been on. The difference being I was I did have to put on some clothes. Anyway I suggest you explore all of your options.

Once you have cruised you cant wait to plan your next one. Pride is a very easy to get around ship. The sushi place was awesome when we were on it. Welcome to the cruising club!
