Review summary

The best part of the cruise was the comedians & the food but not for almost $1800. I'm sure the crew had more than 10 minutes notice that they were adjusting the itinerary and they should've contacted both Carnival & everyone's travel agent to notify us as they state on their website that they should.

I know that the safety of the crew and patrons is most paramount but we should've had more notice than after they closed the doors and was about to disembark that due to possible weather conditions we weren't going to either Turks & Caicos nor Half Moon Cay Bahamas but instead Charleston SC, Freeport & Nassau Bahamas (as it states that they're supposed to do on their website - they're supposed to contact Carnival & our travel agents ahead of time and they didn't). You have to give patrons enough notice to be able to cancel their trip and on top of that if they decide to still go at least give them some concession either onboard or a future discount on their next trip. Neither of these suggestions were provided nor the option of going to Bermuda (which wasn't that far away) instead of Charleston SC (being the replacement for Turks & Caicos) in which there's nothing to do there when your entire trip and purpose of booking this cruise was to sit on beaches with crystal clear blue water (places that I've never been before). I'm highly disappointed in both Carnival and my travel agent because after calling both right after the captain notified us neither wanted to assist but both pointed fingers at the other saying maybe they can help you. This was my first solo cruise/trip after being divorced so I'm highly disappointed in how this turned out (especially on a single's income - this trip was not inexpensive at almost $1800).

Grand Turk Island Did not visit port

Because of hurricane Irma the ship's captain wanted to play it safe and stay close to the east coast so he decided that Charleston SC was a better option. I disagree. Bermuda would've been a better choice.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island) Did not visit port

Because of hurricane Irma we didn't go there but to Nassau. Big disappointment.

Better options should've been provided instead of Charleston SC & Nassau Bahamas if they knew they weren't going to attempt to head to Turks & Caicos or Half Moon Cay Bahamas even though the hurricane didn't come that way until 3 days after we were scheduled to be there. I know safety is the most important thing for everyone but Charleston SC instead of some other beautiful port. NO!!!!!!!!!! And no type of onboard discount, partial refund, discount on future trips. Not cool...

Nassau save your money and book with a local Off the Ship! Great tour, fun, polite, and always safe. We are they're livelihood, Locals want us to come back! 30.00 each, don't forget to tip!

There's a hurricane right now, so I imagine it will be a day to day thing. You can't predict what a hurricane will definitely do ahead of time.

I believe carnival announced several days prior that they had to adjust there itinerary for that week. There was enough time to back out and get a full refund. There was no suprises

because of Irma all cruise line itineraries are flying by the seat of their pants right now until they or on out the wrinkles, what do you expect considering the destruction and timeline to rearrange ports?
