Review summary

This was my first cruise and I traveled with my 10 year old daughter. We had such a special time - there was so much to do and so many experiences to have. I highly recommend this cruise for families who want to spend time together and have tons of fun!

Embarkation

We stayed at the Best Western in Baltimore and took a shuttle to the terminal. The shuttle service was excellent. The lines for security were very long, but moved along. Probably took us an hour and a half in line to actually get on the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room had excellent food and service. The buffets had good food and variety but not as good as the main dining room. We loved the pizza!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did so many activities. The stage shows were amazing, the comedy was great, the games were fun, the parties were rocking!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The fun squad did an excellent job making everyone feel comfortable and included and kept things moving. The performers were ALL excellent .

Children's Programs

I cruised with my 10 year old daughter but we never even went into the children's program - there was so much to do together

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone provided excellent service and so many people knew our names!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was my first cruise so I have nothing to compare it to, but I thought the ship was clean and lovely.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an obstructed view room - a life boat was right in front of our sliding doors. It was nice to have natural light and we could see a bit of the water to tell if we were moving or docked. The room was perfect for two people - enough storage and room.

Ship tip

Go to the shows - they are excellent! If you are going to buy a souvenir cup at the bar (my 10 year old was all about this), don't buy it on the first day- they bring out new ones every day and there might be one you like better - on the last sea day you could chose from all of them.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

Just a place to get on the ship...didn't do anything in Baltimore

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Great snorkel and stingray excursion - although expected more stingrays. We had time to eat lunch on the beach and enjoy the beach - really lovely

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
This was the PERFECT beach! Spent nearly the whole day in the water. Rented snorkel gear and snorkeled off the beach. So much fun!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Originally did not book an excursion but decided last minute to book one. Did the snorkel/dolphin encounter on the advice of the excursion desk folks. It was so much fun and I'm glad we did it.

Disembarkation

This was so quick I was surprised...off the boat much earlier than expected!

I'm almost afraid my 8 year old baby grand will forget about me if I take her on a cruise as she already thinks she is Miss Independence.
