Review summary

I loved my 2nd cruise on the Carnival Pride with Douglas Simpson.   This was my first trip to Half Moon Cay and it is now my favorite port and beach.  The service on the Pride was superb and so was our cabin attendant Victoria.   She went over and beyond service for us and our room.

I do have to mention my concern and annoyance with the amount of smokers and smoking allowed in the casino.  I've enjoyed playing more in the casino and would spend even more in there if there was no smoking.   I became very congested from the second hand smoke in the casino.  The other smoking areas were well away from the activities and not an issue.   I would enjoy the cruise more if there was a room only for smokers or even a bar for smoking that wasn't part of the casino.  I'm sure that less than ten percent of passengers even smoke anymore.  Can this issue be addressed?

Victoria was by far the absolute superb cabin attendant! She was the best ever!

Ship tip

A balcony or Window stateroom is a must! It is a joy to see the water and hear the waves. We watched the sunrise and sunset almost everyday from our balcony.

This is the most beautiful island. We did need more shade and if more umbrellas were offered that would be nice.

Doubtfully, just off cruising with Celebrity which has no smoking in the casino and the place was empty most nights. Though smoking maybe the minority for the general population (it's down to about 1/3 of adult US citizens when you factor in those that use cigars, hookahs, &/or vape). BUT for the target group of that is just gamblers it still seems as if the statistics from the 60/70s still hold true with between 60-80% of that demographic using tobacco or alternative smoke products.

I have asked about the excessive smoke in the casino and they told me that they keep it Smokey on purpose because it makes the smokers gamble and drink more
