Review summary

After a late departure w/ the understanding that we would be missing 2 out of 3 ports, we would receive a 50% refund & 50% off next cruise......and then we received the "refund",  This is not to include the $800+ in port fees & taxes. .Apparently  even though we stopped at 2 ports. i.e. 2 ports in the Bahamas, which are basically the same, and the ship had to pay extra for staying longer in the Nassau port ...........NONE of this was the passengers fault, doesn't the ship have to accept some responsibility & financial fault??????  This was a long awaited 1st cruise for 3 sisters & we will NOT be using our small refund for another cruise when Carnival accepts little to no responsibility.

Some people are never satisfied and whatever you do, they are OK with it.

Sadly, we only see what impacts us immediately.  Rather than sitting in Nassau, you could very well have been in rough seas where the pool water was sloshing around, rain thrashing the boat like crazy, passengers being sick on every turn of a corner, etc or you could have made the most out of Nassau and yet still have the luxury of receiving 50% off plus!

Half Moon Cay is the cruise lines Private island,  there is not docking fee.   The cruise line not only lost money giving you a free cruise but also lost all the $$$ you would have spent on the private island.  Carnival stepped up to the plate and took financial responsibility giving you 1/2 off now and 1/2 off a future cruise.

Part of cruising is safety of the guest, crew and ship,  the Captain has the job to look for safety first.  This is stated in your cruise contract.

Would you expect a beach resort in Mexico or Hawaii  to refund your room because it rained and you could not use the beach ?  Weather and Sea conditions are not controllable by any cruise line.

When cruising, you must accept the fact that the Captain has the authority and responsibility to skip certain ports in the interest of passenger safety. The fact that the line refunded 50% of the fare not only for this cruise, but for your next as well, demonstrates that the line did take financial responsibility as well (basically giving you a free cruise).

I was on the same cruise with my sister, and we had a wonderful time. It was also our first cruise, we were on vacation on a beautiful ship and were treated like queens. I personally thought that the 50% off that cruise and 50% the next was a pretty good deal. I am sorry that you were not satisfied or that you didn't enjoy yourself, you really missed out on a great time. I look forward to my next cruise on the Pride
