Review summary

The actual cruise was great.  The weather was not....cold/cool; cloudy/rainy.  At ties it was too windy to go on deck.  I enjoy deck activities and they were few and far between. Our port of call for Freeport was canceled entirely.  I was looking forward to this particular stop for shopping.  Carnival refunded a whopping $11.28 to our accounts (port taxes and fees) and any monies paid for excursions.  What a disappointment.

I agree, but it is simple nature to include the entire vacation experience when writing a review.

Perhaps a written explanation that the rating should only include what the cruise line is responsible for in the instructions, however I doubt any of us here actually read the instructions!

Another possibility would be to change the ratings page to include a section for ship only and total vacation -- it may work and it may not.

I don't disagree with you BD. It's an issue that Cruiseline.com needs to evaluate.

The star rating is a 3 which means it was good and the cruiser would recommend it.  While it is disappointing to lose a port on an already brief cruise, it was a result of poor weather which the cruise line has no control over.

Assuming the cruise experience was "great" as you say, the rating should reflect that rather than the weather. The review title featuring weather as the key piece of information should serve as a heads up to readers that the review rating is tainted by a factor other than the actual cruise experience.

Why would you give only 3 stars if the cruise was great? It wasn't Carnivals fault that the weather was bad.

Same here :) cruised a few times with RCL. Beautiful ships but very snooty and staff acted like they were doing you a favor when you asked for something. All while paying double the rates that Carnival charges..

I was on carnival glory during hurricane sandy (2012) we only went to Nassau for 6 hrs and headed back to VA, despite the weather (it was our first cruise) my husband and I still had a Great time. We cruise yearly with carnival and enjoy every cruise. They refunded some money but didn't except a full refund.

His vacation is rated as 3 stars. Unfortunately, many people seem to rate the vacation rather than the ship, which then gives false numbers when comparing.

On the other hand, if a ship has numerous 1 star reviews for weather, would that be an itinerary that I would care for?

Yeah right. That's a good thing.

The Pride will not be in Baltimore until Feb 7. It is on a Journey Cruise.

That's about all they could do. Rather safe than dead. Hey look at it this way. The people who come back on Sunday will have to dig there way out to get home. Or if you was going this Sunday you might not make it to get to the ship. So why complain.

I quote... "The actual cruise was great.".  Let me ask you Shappy, if you did a land vacation to a resort, and it rained all week so all beach activities were cancelled, would you feel the same? Would you expect a refund from the resort because of the rain? The cruise line has NO control over the weather as you should know if you have done 7+ cruises. They do in fact have control over passenger safety which is what you endured. You seem to think the cruise line offers you more than the refund of the port fees & taxes for missing Freeport. Sorry to tell you but your wrong! Your 3 star rating based solely on the bad weather is also wrong.
