Review summary
We boarded the Carnival Pride on December 20th for our first Christmas cruise. The embarkation was very smooth and the representatives checking people in at the port of Baltimore are much friendlier than those in Miami. The ship had a nice layout. I was disappointed that there were only 2 outdoor hot tubs. They were always very crowded and some kids used them as splash pads. We have met very nice people on board and have to say overall, the atmosphere on this cruise was one of the best we've experienced. Since the cruise was over Christmas, there were a lot of families on board. It was nice to see parents spending time with their kids. We haven't seen any rowdy people like we did on the Carnival Ecstacy in May which was more like a party cruise.
Generally the crew was friendly although I found most of the wait staff distracted in the MDR. They always seemed rushed, brought out desert menus while we were still eating dinner, looked around while taking our order, not a big deal, just something we noticed. Overall they were good.
The entertainment crew at night did a great job getting everyone together dancing on deck and doing a huge conga line. It was nice to see all ages having fun.
We only did one excursion and that was the ATV's in Freeport which I would highly recommend.
I would definitely go on another cruise from Baltimore. It was a nice vacation.
