Review summary

Fun, but way to many kids and family's- if you have kids you will love it - if your a single or couple / friends wait till kids are back in school. Hard to find a lounger on sea days in the mornings - people leave their stuff on loungers go eat lunch and come back hours later. Over all fun, but just was not my kind of crowd, I like to cuise with 85% plus adults over 18.

Embarkation

Had 11AM Time slot - flight was cancled the day before - got to LAX at 12:30 PM was at the cruise port at 2PM - was able to walk right in as people with late check in were waiting in line. - inside there was a line that took about 20 mins to get though to check in - after that took about 15 mins to get on, felt pretty fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
MDR hit and miss as depends on what you ordered, 3 nights out of 5 were really good, I ordered great tasting dishes - Tepenyaki was very good, steak house good, Italian restaurant was good, all the fast food eats awesome. Sea Day brunch was really good, Buffet no selection and not tasty. Bars - no menus to down load to show types of liquor offered (only pig & anchor) showed all drinks offered. Frog Rum bar way to busy - just go to the other side to Iguana cantina or to the back of the ship and serenity. - main bar (center ship) can get really busy at dinner and show times.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Lines really long for water slides, Ropes Course and Sky ride on Sea days, not enough loungers in the sun, plenty of seating in the shade. Gym no heavy bars /bench press /plates, cannot do squats, dead lift or bench, only head free wights and machines- no punching bag.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Game shows were fun, the Fun Squad and Marty our CD were awesome! They were the highlight of the cruise, The nightly partys 80s, 70s, silent disco, white party were so fun. Night club was ok, not many people 21 to 35 on the ship.(tons of couples) Trivia was fun and the dance class was so fun, learned the Thriller dance - MJ. Comedians were very funny and took shots at everyone and people of all backgrounds. Lots of jokes about crusing. Nightly stage shows were very good great singing and dancing, I enjoyed it a lot. Karaoke was terrible- not 1 good singer the 2 times I went, gave me a headache.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most bar tenders were awesome and very nice - just at times the wait to get a drink was long at the Red Frog and Main center bar, they just started helping people out of order, people had been waiting and they just helped who ever was right in eye sight that cut in. MDR staff was very nice and polite, my cabin steward was very nice, made animal towels everyday - took one of mine to reuse - LOL - left the rest all week. The CD Marty and the fun squad were awesome ! Buffet staff were very nice ! Workers at Guys and Blue Iguana so nice - pizza staff at night seemed very irritated at all the drunk people and you could tell they did not want to deal with it.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was ok - a few floors you could not walk the entire ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Too many kids 1500 under 17 years old, out of 4000 passengers (sold out ship) Staff was great, food was for the most part was very good. I booked my own shore excursions and they were awesome- made the entire trip so fun. Would do it again - only when most kids are back in school

Ship tip

If you do not have kids, go when the kids are in school. If the bars get busy get the bartenders attention any way you can for the most part they dont care who was waiting first or longer. If you get sea sick easy on the way back to Long Beach it will get rough the last sea day. It seems too happen a lot the last sea day

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

Went to stone Island, I missed the boat to the island- they took me directly to the island on a small dingy it was so fun, was on the island all alone with the staff for an 1:30 mins as the tour was out on the big boat crusing around. Had authentic Mexican tacos and margaritas/ Tequila shots at a mom and pop place. Took a uber.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Disembarkation

If you want off early eat at the buffet - (MDR was a hot mess- very long lines) and line up too get off - they call you be muster station, but lots of people just did not listin and just started lining up on deck 4 as soon as they could. I sat in the casino for about 1 hour and was in the front too get off. If your not down there early and you wait for them too call your muster it will be awhile too get off.
