Review summary

My cruise would have been great if I had chosen a better Cabin location. Fellow passengers was constantly slamming the balcony and cabin doors. Kids running around all hours of the night and banging on doors.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Ship was late coming into Port and so we were extremely late boarding. My check in time was for 12 noon and I didn’t get on board until 1:30pm

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The food in the main dining was cold and not very. Flavorful. The service was so slow. Did not use any specialty restaurants. The buffet was the same thing everyday . Guys Burger was the best place to eat.!!!!! Great as usual

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
I did mostly Trivia onboard and it was great as usual but it was held in a small venue. Matt from the Fun Squad was GREAT!!!!! doing the Trivia’s.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Shows were great in the Theater. Did not see any of the comedians because of conflicts with other activities plan.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward (7270) was great but the dining staff was terrible

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I only gave it 4 Stars because of the location. It was clean and almost new. The location was on the floor with the Sky Dome and it was very noisy because of the traffic. Kids was running around every night and Security was called several times to control the noise.

Ship tip

Check the location of your Cabin and make sure it is not near any activities..

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

A mess getting to the Port because of activities in the area. This is my second time sailing from this Port and both times it was disappointing. Disorganization every time boarding

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great place but our time was cut short here because of problems with the cruise ship we had to leave early. No priority was given to Diamonds and Platinum cruisers

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Did my excursion off the cruise and they were very organized.. Cost a lot less than the cruise excursion.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Chaos and confusion. I am Platinum but the people who took their luggage off by themselves was treated better than the Platinum and Diamonds passengers during disembarkation. I brought the Carnival transfer to the airport for a 9am departure but didn’t leave the Port until 11am. The ship was late getting in and it was hell from there getting off.

Appreciate your details. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations. Now you have a cabin location to avoid. As a seasoned Carnival cruiser (Platinum) you can carry your own luggage off and be at the front of the line. Sometimes they are getting off before any of the “checked” luggage has been off loaded. It’s what we started doing.

Surprised to hear your experience on the Panorama was only a 3 out of 5 stars…It sounds like embarkation and debarking were both frustrating and the dining room was disappointing..A few suggestions..Have you considered purchasing FTTF..It gives you priority boarding and debarking and several other useful perks..$129.00 for the week for everyone in your cabin..You can even drop off your bags in your room before it’s ready..As far as the dining room consider early dining..The first few seatings are always faster and hotter because their not overwhelmed yet..Some of the specialty restaurants are great deals also..$18 per person for Cucina del Capitano and Jiji’s..and I hate to say it but your room location issues were at least half your fault..Choose more wisely..Check out what’s above, below and on your sides..Another cabin is best..Anyways maybe next time..Give it another chance. It’s one of my favorite ships that’s why I’m trying to defend it..
