Review summary

So much fun!! We always love cruising on Carnival, and are loyal to them! Mexican Riveria was new to us, and we loved it but I think we prefer the Caribbean. Regardless, that didn’t change our fun and good time with Carnival.

Embarkation

Easy peasy. Quick, organized. We had a suite this time, so we got to hang in the beautiful captains lounge at Long Beach Port once checked in, and then we were first to board. Walked on to an empty ship, grabbed a drink and Guys Burger, always first priority!!

We always enjoy the food. Guys burgers, main dining, tacos, melting cake, etc etc…never gets old to us. Drinks also are great. We get the cheers package always. Love the specialty coffees each morning too. Also great service.

Onboard Activities

We didn’t even have time to do everything 🤣 but loved what we did get to enjoy!! We attend a movie almost every night, love it!! Kinda wish the popcorn was free but it’s super cheap, so no biggie. We love shopping on the ship, my boyfriend enjoyed working out…but said it does stay busy. Love hanging on the serenity deck too, and our favorite bar on the lido; Red Frog!!

Entertainment

This was our first time in a suite and we loved it!! The space was great. But we splurged and will probably go back to our normal balcony most times. But it was lovely. Joel our room stewards was great. Attentive. Filled out buckets with ice every day. The first 2 nights we heard what sounded like someone running on a treadmill…about 1-2am….we almost mentioned something but then it stopped. Unsure if ship workers were working out??? Unknown. Otherwise even during the day, we didn’t hear much noise. We try to stay on Lido or above, cuts back on noise and location is great!!!

Ship tip

Elevators are different, but we enjoyed them and they are easy to use. Also JavaBlue has fresh orange juice and it’s amazing!! I do kinda miss the open atrium style on the other ships.

First time here…we did the hop on/off tour. They pick you up RIGHT off the ship. It’s $35 a person. About 5 stops, you can get on and off, any of the buses on the tour, and you charge it right to your sail/sign card, that was nice: and the whole tour was great!! We also loved this port. Yea it’s industrial when you arrive but they cart you to their actual port and it’s lovely: along with the whole city! A lot to see and do here!!! This was probably ste favorite stop of the 3.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We did a the Camel carnival excursion here and it was a lot of fun. Food wasn’t great , but that’s ok. We did tequila tasting with it too and that was fun! Not a ton of time here, and I think I could have enjoyed more time! Beautiful weather here!! Much better than Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlàn.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

First time here….Had a blast. Did an excursion outside of Carnival, like normal for us. At Sun Buggy’s! So fun, it included a stop at the botanical gardens, tequila tasting and lunch/beach. It was very hot, but fun!! We met new friends and drove our own “car”. They were mini cars, manual only. Very hard to shift for everyone but that’s just part of their every day!! Lots of fun and laughter regardless!!

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Enjoyed our time. Stayed the day before our cruise. Metropolitan Hotel was close to port and in a cute neighborhood. There is only 3 floors but no elevator, so keep that in mind,

Easy. Quick. Walked right off with our bags by 9:30/10 am. Just sad for it to be over 🥹
