Review summary

We booked the cruise on Carnival's Panorama at the suggestion of our travel agent. She recommended Carnival because of the activities for the children. We all had a wonderful time together and found the ship experience to be very good. This is the second time we have used Carnival for a family cruise. We were a party of 13 people.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good overall. We didn't have a reserved dining time. Generally, we waited about 30 minutes or less for a table once we made a reservation. We were a party of 13 which did take some time to set up. The dining room staff was courteous and friendly.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools and hot tubs were generally very crowded, which was to be expected. The children enjoyed the water features and the sky rider. I thought it would have been nice to have a few more staff type activities during the day around the pool area. We have had this on other ships, but it seemed to be more limited on the Panorama.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw three shows and enjoyed them. The theatre was rather small on the Panorama.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
The children participated on a limited basis.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The waiters were very good. Martin was exceptional. The room steward, Lukman, did a good job. The room was cleaned once a day. On past cruises on other lines, including Carnival, rooms were generally cleaned once a day, but refreshed an additional time in the afternoon and evening.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship design was good. It did not have a covered pool area. The common ship areas were always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We enjoyed our cabin and thought it was comfortable.

Ship tip

It is a good ship with good activities for children. Our kids loved to go duck hunting. Guests left rubber ducks around the ship for them to find. This was an added bonus that we haven't encountered on other cruise lines.
