Love the route. Disappointed. I understand bad weather, nobody’s fault. However, they could have shined. Open up restaurants. Have some extra activities, not watching a football game on the deck in the blowing wind. Didn’t eat one full meal at an included venue. Ate one full meal at the steakhouse, which was awesome.
I am platinum and higher on other lines.
Embarkation

Horrid. Stood in line 2 hrs, to stand in two other lines. Finally Get on the building only to wait another half hour while all workers go on break!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Vista: horrid. Couldn’t eat one full meal there.
No saltine crackers on board. Blue Iguana open 12-2:30 sea days. What a joke. Need to be open longer. Burger joint open 12-6 only. Buffet horrible. Had bad weather and many times no food. When it’s pouring there’s nothing much to do except eat and drink.
Onboard Activities

Boo on hot tubs. On embarking, 50% tubs inop. Games average. Nobody gets in teams, not as fun as other lines.
Entertainment

DJ late to his show on September 9. Double charged for Deal or No Deal
Cards. Look at your account summary! Took three days of standing in line at first service to fix. They never did till I involved the entertainment director.
Service and Staff

Did not see nor know who room steward was for the first two days. I inquired. He said he was busy.
Overheard bartender Dragan, answer to a customer “what cruise name is this, not the FUNSHIP, but the complainer ship”. This takes the cake
Ship Quality

Beautiful ship. Nobody stood in front of food venues to sanitize, that surprised me. Had to ask.for tables to be wiped.
Java Blue employees excellent at cleaning. Visited there daily.
Cabin / Stateroom

Inside. Bar soap for the sink. I never see this on other lines. No conditioner in shower. Shower curtain 😬
Room was quiet, which is what I wanted. Again, no
steward the first two days!
Ship tip
Even though ship was nice, first time on Carnival and the service could not match the ship or other cruise lines.

I could not believe it. We had crappy weather for three days. That’s nobody’s fault. But to stand there in front of a group and actually say this? I felt so bad for the lady who was talking. I would
NEVER allow one of my employees to treat a guest/customer like this.
Carnival is the Kmart of the mainstream cruise industry. As long as you have moderate expectations, it can be a good trip. I guess we were lucky in October and March, MDR was decent, buffet is too small but had some good items, and the staff were mostly good. Entertainment is hit or miss due to the ship’s design and the cost.

I cannot. I was bewildered watching this. We should be able to think things, not say out loud. That’s rude and uncalled for. All the lady was asking for is what is this ship called, the FUNSHIP? Clearly he needs a new job.
Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations. Happy you have another line that fits your needs. Sometimes there is just a “lemon” cruise. We’ve had three out of 46 completed sailings. It happens.
JT1962…. I’ve had five cruises since last July. This ship, it’s workers and food didn’t compare to my others. Like I said, other lines went out of their way to help. I never ever (before or after Covid) saw an employee talk to a guest this this.
If you’ve seen this, I’m sorry and sad. There is no reason for a restaurant to be open for 2.5 hrs. No reason I should be charged for something I didn’t have or order.
I don’t know. I have not cruised on Carnival prior. Maybe this is indicative of how lousy they are? I don’t know, just asking!
Not sure if you’ve cruised since Covid or not, but most of your comments are fairly typical how many lines since the restart. I’ve been on Carnival twice this year, and both were similar to your comments.
JT1962: if you read what I wrote, nobody should get this on any line. Nobody should double charge me. Nobody should go two days without a room steward.
I’ve been a gracious cruiser. I’ve got wonderful service on every other line. Just ask and everyone is aiming to help. I can’t believe I saw an employee say that to someone (Dragan in the bar). That doesn’t belong in any service industry.
They could’ve done better.
