Review summary

This cruise should have been so much more. Hurricanes suck!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
He embarkation process started out easily with the health assessment, but after that it was a 45 wait to check in. It was warm and muggy in the terminal.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining room was good every night. Guy's Burgers was good for lunch and the Blue Iguana Cantina was good for breakfast or lunch. This is the first cruise I did not eat from the buffet. There are plenty of good options.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

This was my breakfast destination almost every day.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Guy's Burgers was a go to for lunch on several days.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The pools were closed half the time and 2 hot tubs never opened. The ropes and sky ride were only open 2 days. Some of the trivia was fun.

Serenity Adult-Only Retreat

5 out of 5

When this was open, it was very relaxing. Jo Ann at the Serenity Bar was amazing!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The comedians were good, but only performed 3 nights. The stage shows that we went to were good, especially Celestial Strings.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was busy and still friendly. The room stewards did a nice job and our dining room staff was superb.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is new and is in great condition. The staff do a great job keeping it clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony cabin with great views and a little privacy. The room was the perfect size to meet our needs.

Ship tip

Pack your appetite. You will eat like you're on vacation!

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

1 out of 5
Due to Hurricane Kay, this port was canceled. It was the only port we had scheduled an excursion for. It really hurts that we missed out on this.

Mazatlan, Mexico

1 out of 5
Mazatlan was a huge disappointment. Half the city that was damaged by a hurricane in the 70's has never been repaired. The cliff divers were cool, but there were so many street vendors that it was very uncomfortable.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Cabo was nice, but the weather was very hot and muggy. We took a glass bottom boat to see the arch and got to see lots of fish along the way. We took a bicycle taxi to Cabo Wabo and had a very nice lunch at El Cural.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy!

The ratings in my review are not the ratings I gave and I can't edit my review. The actual ratings are lower than what this review says.

Can’t agree with food or entertainment. Yes, comedians good. Saw two shows. OH BOY. Should have more, or folks with more material to have two more shows. I saw so many people leaving Vista without eating. What MDR doesn’t have a grapefruit for breakfast?! I had French onion soup the color of my khakis. Should be dark and salty. It was gross. Jojo in serenity was great! So were ladies in Java Blue.
