Review summary

We were in the middle of Hurricane Kay and the ship was intensely rocking almost the entire cruise. I usually don’t get sea sick or nauseous but I did with this cruise. The ship is newer but combined with the weak stabilizers and the hurricane, the cruise was 🤢🤮.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Terminal is hot and muggy (no air conditioning) but I was checked in and on the ship in 90 mins or less because I arrived early.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
They need to do a better job, I was stuck on board for 5 sea days and bored out of my mind. Barely felt the presence of the cruise director and “fun team”.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
There was entertainment?

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Hard working, I wish the disrespectful, ghetto guests did not talk down on them or talk sht to them so much. Some of the guests are clearly poor so I don’t know why they talk down to the crew members.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The pigs on board made a big sty in the public areas, some were not kept up as well. Passengers should not leave their food out sitting in the hallway. Its not a buffet.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
My room had hair in it and smelled like the person prior to me. I called guest services they sprayed air freshener and re-cleaned the stateroom. Some of the towels and sheets had stains on them. Spend the extra money on an balcony cabin.

Ship tip

Go with another cruise line. Carnival attracts trashy, low IQ people. If you want a ghetto time, go on Carnival. You’ll meet one of the most vile, disgusting people (ever). The ship, food was adequate. The crew/staff was good and hard working. The activities are lacking and if you have a lot of sea days you’ll be bored out of your mind, especially if you are experiencing bad weather.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Ive been on previous cruises but we did not make this or our substitution in Ensenada because of Hurricane Kay.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

2 out of 5
Carnivals terminal is awful, it takes forever to get in and out. This applies with rideshare pick ups as well.

Mazatlan, Mexico

2 out of 5
Avoid Stone Island. Disgusting, loose, homeless animals, brown water.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Love Cabo, just don’t get ripped off by the vendors or pharmacies.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
For the first time ever I choose to carry my luggage out because I wanted to GTFO of there.

We had the same experience back in 1998 on the Elation, we only ended up going to 1 port. However we still had a great time.

I agree with you. We were on this sailing. I guess the people who are criticizing never have been on nicer lines. Food was horrible. I think Blue Iguana being open 2.5 hrs on sea days is a joke. I met some nice people. All said the same thing.

Glad my trips on the Panorama were better than that!

Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations. Hope you find a cruise line that you enjoy more. Of course sailing at the height of hurricane season, you just might be caught in one.
