Review summary

This was my second cruise, first with Carnival. So many things went wrong such as the elevators breaking down on disembarkation day causing us to haul or heavy luggage multiple times down many flights of stairs. There were six fights that happened on the ship. A domestic violence attack outside of our stateroom. Completely unacceptable. The crew members acted like nothing happened. These people should be prosecuted and banned from Carnival. An announcement should have been informing all of the passengers regarding the events and consequences. Now, I fear for my personal safety. It was difficult to get my soda under the bubbles package. I had to ask many times in the MDR for my soda. I was never able to get soda in the buffet because everything is self serve and the only drinks available did not include soda. You have to leave the buffet and go out to the bar in the pool area for soda. Too much of a pain so I probably paid $8/glass of soda since I only had one glass a day in the MDR. My advice is to skip the Bubble package and just pay for each drink. Room service always got our morning coffee/creamer order wrong. So simple....three cups of coffee with creamer. We would get two cups. Or no creamer. No sugar/sweetener. etc. In spite of all of the unfortunate events, I still had a wonderful time with my family. I probably would not take a weeklong Carnival cruise again.

Long lines, took forever

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Main dining room food was adequate. Buffet food was okay but if you order the bubbles package you have to run out to the pool bar area you will not get your soda beverage. I had to request my soda multiple times in the MDR. At the tea service they never refilled our teapot with hot water or brought cold water to a friend. Disappointing

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
They had plenty of activities for all ages. My favorite was the outdoor track.

Entertainment

I did not go

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Elmer, our room steward was ok...everyone friendly on board. Nothing notable

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I did not like the compartmentalized lay out of the ship. The buffet area was always restrictive, crowded and tight.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Comfortable, clean and I loved our balcony.

Ship tip

Be prepared for a crowded experience. The elevators broke down on the last day and we had to carry our luggage multiple floors, multiple times down flights of stairs with my elderly mother. Also, a couple brawls on the ship. A domestic violence attack outside of our stateroom. Unbelievable

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Port view is stunning at sunset. Excursion was mediocre.

Mazatlan, Mexico

Port was okay. Excursion unremarkable.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Did not visit port

My elderly mother would not have been able to manage the tender ship.

Disembarkation

Worse experience ever. See above. Elevators broke down. We had to lug our heavy suitcases multiple times down multiple flights of stairs. Completely unacceptable
