Review summary

Carnival ship and staff were amazing, lots of fun and memories to be had. It seemed like they were charging you for something every time you turn around though, and we paid 4000 for the cruise then tax, tipping, and drinks plus food in specialty restaurants, we spent another 1500. I don’t know about anyone else but I could spend the same amount on a Europe trip for 3 weeks versus the 1 week on the ship- thanks a lot Carnival!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food at main dining was just ok but the specialty restaurants were excellent. Staff was incredible but drinks were stupid expensive. JiJi ‘s was great and hostess and staff were more than accommodating. Italian place was excellent also

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Activities were cool, if you could find them. I feel that even though they put up info on things to do, it wasn’t communicated well to passengers

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedy show was great, bingo guy sucked cause he went way to fast- waste of money- and dis/music was pretty good

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service, Edi is the man! He was always there if we needed something.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Excellent

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice size, comfortable bed nice balcony. Our room was towards back of ship- quiet

Ship tip

They don’t tell you everything you need to know, even though it’s in writing, I ended up tipping staff In cash and then was charged again for staff tips.

Another review where no research was done prior to booking. Carnival surprises no one....it's all spelled out for everyone to understand in plain English.

Wow, I'm glad you had a great time. 1500 on meals is a bit much for a 7 day cruise. I enjoy the Steakhouse, but didn't eat there every day. I hope a couple of drink package was included into your 5500 dollar cruise and you are correct. Europe probably would have been less than what you paid for your cruise.

You don't need to eat at the specialty restaurants. That is a choice you made and it is extra. You could have stuck with the MDR. Drinks are no more expensive than any other bar I have been to on land. Did you not look at your receipt when recieved and signed for your drinks? It shows a tip. Did you pre pay tips when you booked? Then you knew that they were there.

No one is told you to eat at all the expensive restaurants.

You have to personally go to the customer service desk the night before your cruise ends to have the tips taken off if you want to tip in cash instead. It is in the fine, tiny print along with the tip amount each day.
