Review summary

This cruise was definitely a trip of a lifetime. Words can not describe the beauty that Alaska holds. I will be returning again in May.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
MDR left a lot of our taste buds ignored. Buffet was no different than cafeteria quality selections. Pizza and deli provided tasty sustenance.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Choice of two all age pools to chose from, one was enclosed overhead and warm, sometimes too stuffy. Whereas the outdoor option was sometimes too chilly to enjoy. Also the smoking section is on one side of the pool deck, and was too smoky for even me and I’m a smoker. my grandkids enjoyed the pools and water slides.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were impressive and interactive. Family Feud was especially fun.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Grandkids enjoyed their time at camp.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Eleven days of searching for a smile from at least one staff member was daunting. This was my 15th Carnival cruise and the absolute worst service to date.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was good and the layout of the ship was simple.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Average size room, smaller balcony. Tellly was very small. Outdated. Only one plug, bring a non surge extension cord.

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

San Francisco is familiar to us. Fisherman’s Wharf is always a treat.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Quaint and absolutely beautiful! We did the Lumberjack show and were perfectly entertained.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Breathtakingly beautiful. We visited The Mendenhall Glacier and enjoyed the scenery and educational film on the history of glaciers.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Quaint and pristine. We did the Street Car Tour and were pleased with it’s entertaining tour guide.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

3 out of 5
Not a port I’d venture out on again. Quaint and not much to do or see. However, if you do disembark, you must try the mini doughnut stand! Fabulous!

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

5 out of 5
Stunning! We did not do an excursion but enjoyed the beauty from the 10th deck.

Prince Rupert, British Columbia

2 out of 5
This port was a waste of time. We did the Street Trolley excursion and was terribly disappointed. It basically was an overpriced tour of their residential area. I would not disembark again.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy. Left our cabin at 8:30, enjoyed breakfast on the lido deck until our 9:30am exit.
