Poor embarkation experience. They need to work on that!
Would never again go out of San Francisco. It was 4 wasted days of "Sea Days" - weather was terrible the first 2 days, really nothing to do. Movies on ship were old ones. Poor Playlist entertainment. Even musicians were only OK. We are Platinum on Carnival and this was probably one of the most disappointing cruises we've been on.
Embarkation

Total chaos! No priority boarding lines, no visible ADA lines, porters were non existent
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Poor service, poor quality of food. We (maybe naive on our part) expected Alaskan seafood. Even on nights that there were hardly any people in the dining room, service was slow.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Hot tubs were not hot. Mostly filled with children. Equipment in the gym had signs "out of service".
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Comedians were good, the magician was good. The Playlist productions were not.
Children's Programs
no kids

Cabin / Stateroom

It was fine....we would have preferred a room more in the center of the ship, but I never contacted anyone to request a different cabin, so my bad. Our neighbor was very loud and you could hear his conversations at any given time.
We had a Mendenhall Glacier excursion planned and it was canceled. No reason, just a refund. This was the primary reason for booking Alaska....So disappointed. I felt that Carnival should have offered some sort of options.
