Pros:
- Great value
- Nice way to see Alaska
- Convenient embarkation port (San Francisco)
- On-board band was awesome!
- Amazing onboard crew who were friendly and diligent.
Cons:
- Terrible food. Slow lines and food quality was low.
- Many evening shows were boring fillers. There were full dancing/singing show for only 3 out of the 11 nights.
Embarkation

The self-guided safety talk at the muster stations after boarding was much faster than the usual mandatory meeting. I liked the new process!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Terrible food onboard. Many food were barely recognizable and poorly flavored. Breakfast buffet had identical stuff every single day, and were often bad.
Most food lines were snails crawl slow. Buffet would only have one line to serve the whole ship and you had to ask a staff to scoop food for you, which slowed things down even more. Forget about pizza and to-order stuff. Sit-down dinner also took a whole hour to wait for the courses to arrive, and were only somewhat better than the buffet.

Entertainment

They really cut back on the stage shows. For an 11-night cruise, there were only 3 real stage shows involving the dance/singer performers. The other nights were boring fillers like a comedian showcase, game shows run by the cruise director, and stuff like that.
Live music around the ship was awesome though. We really enjoyed the onboard band, which played 3~4 sets almost every night.

Cabin / Stateroom

This is a small interior stateroom. It's similar to most cabins I've stayed in before. The twin beds are quite narrow (we split them). The stewards kept everything super clean and tidy!
Ship tip
The Gatsby's Garden is a great quiet place to chill!
This is not a real port-of-call. The ship sailed up the fjord and stopped by the glacier for an hour. The only way to get off is to book a boat tour for a closer look at the glacier. The glacier is pretty small and far away from the cruise ship.
I'm not sure why we had to stop here. There's very little to do here. I guess there's a Walmart and Safeway a short walk away. I did a little bit of shopping, though there aren't even many shops.
You had to stop in Canada because it is a federal law that a cruise ship must stop in a foreign country. The same thing happens on most Hawaii cruises from the west coast, as they make a short stop in Ensenada.
