Thought the cruise itself overall was a good cruise. It was relaxing and not a hurry hurry to see this or do that. The Miracle is a very good ship to cruise on even though it is aged. The older decor suits the older generation more then the younger..
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Worst embarkation we’ve ever had. Used Uber to get to the terminal. No directions shown for baggage drop off. After asking a couple employees where do we drop off baggage we were told to take our baggage to the other end of the terminal and get in line. We did and 30 minutes later our bags were taken by a porter. We only saw two porters receiving baggage. Then I asked where do we check in. We were then told to go back to the other end of the terminal and get in line. The line was very long and had a break in it so people. Outdoor cross through to the other side. By then it was past our check in time. We are Platinum and I asked where do we check in and was told through those doors which had no security until we went inside. There
was a nice lady said take that elevator which we did and followed directions. Check in was rather fast as it was first come first again and finally got a power strip. And yes it was a surg pro Ted power strip. The one that carnival says you can’t bring on the ship.serve. Then it was a free for all to board ship after check in.
When luggage was delivered I found that my “non surge power strip” and three way adapter had been confiscated as a safety hazard. Went to guest services to find out why as that power strip was stated by carnival as the correct one to bring. Was told security said it was a safety hazard. Later found out that a number of proper ones were confiscated. I use it for my CPAP and to charge my scooter at night. After arguing with it seemed like half the crew I was brought an extension. Cord with a single plug. Argued and finally got a power strip. Yes a surge protected power strip. The kind Carnival says you can’t have.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food over all was good including 5he main dining room. The main dining room servers were great and we had the same crew each night as we had yo7r time dining and asked for the same crew which were a delight.
Onboard Activities

My wife and I are both 82 and have quit 5he rock-climbing walls and slides. She reads or does board games with others in our party as our adult kids usually travel with us. Me I go to the casino
Entertainment

Night time shows were more of a high school performance. Had 6 performer’s and most of the singing was by one guy and one girl. Not much of a show. Two shows the singers sat on stools or movable squares 5hat were sled around. One show was a elderly gentleman that billed himself as a great singer and actor and his act was a review of his life. Twice when singing he apologized for not being able to hit some of his higher notes anymore. One show there was an elderly man that was billed as a magician / comedian. Was more of a party act. His big trick I had just seen on AGT by a 11 year old.

Cabin / Stateroom

Typical balcony cabin. Exactly the same as I have had on all my cruises regardless of what deck or location.
Ship tip
Ship is good. Age of ship has nothing to do with the ship and how it operates. Most every one has aged furniture and their home is not new. No difference in a ship. Have been on Miracle a number of times and have always had a good cruise. Go to have a good time. I have never done a review before or sailed out of San Francisco but this time there were a couple of things I wanted to say. Only because some cruisers really bash a ship and look for things to make them unhappy. Over all this cruise was a good cruise and our party had a good time. There are other things I can do and not go to shows in the show room but that does not make it a bad cruise. I am sure I will go on the Miracle again.
Getting off the ship was a wait-wait situation. Sorta like bee’s on a hive. Once we got to 5he bottom of terminal to baggage and got baggage it was smooth sailing until we got outside. Complete mess no one helping to direct folks to proper location to catch transportation. So many people and no place to stand or sit to wait for transportation.
Thank you for the detailed review. Appreciate you spending the time to break it all down. Glad you had a nice cruise, not counting embarkation and debarkation.
