Review summary

Some of our favourite experiences on this cruise would definitely be the views, we saw approximately 25 whales, sea otters, seals lion, and dozens of bald eagles. And of course the weather was overall very good

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

RedFrog Pub

1 out of 5

Very slow service my wife waited over a half hour for a drink

Lido Marketplace

2 out of 5

Very repetitive. I definitely think it’s time for Carnival to switch things up a little bit. Really enjoyed chopsticks. The deli had nice selection of sandwiches.

BlueIguana Cantina

4 out of 5

Soft tacos were good like always.

Bacchus Dining Room

2 out of 5

Very slow Service. It looked like they were understaffed. Food was lukewarm at best typically. And we felt that the food quality has declined post Covid😞

Onboard Activities

Lido Orpheus Aft Pool

4 out of 5

Tried to enjoy the aft pool quite a bit. Although it was not heated. The hot tub was only 89° our first day but was quickly corrected once I brought it to the attention of the staff. There after it was probably around 100°

Carnival Waterworks

I always enjoy green thunder!

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The staff generally we’re not as friendly as previous cruises. Again possibly due to the fact that they were understaffed and overworked not too sure

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship is part of the spirit class ships. They have a very easy and user-friendly layout

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
This was our first time getting an aft balcony. We would not get this category of a room again. You can hear the propellers quite a bit and there was no shelter from shade or rain

Ship tip

Enjoy the ship it has an easy layout to get around. Have patience with the staff because it may be quite different than previous Carnival Cruises. You may want to take advantage of specialty restaurants because we found the food subpar

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

2 out of 5
We were not a big fan of San Francisco! We were uncomfortable with all the homeless people that were taking over the sidewalks and alleys and such. Look out our hotel window and can see people on the street shooting up. That’s not cool. Just a very very crowded and expensive city to visit

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We had a great time in Juneau! My wife got to have her king crab legs and she said they were fantastic. I had probably the best halibut that I’ve ever had and I tried their local salmon. We also did the gondola to the top of the mountain and explored up there beautiful views. And we were blessed with the weather it had to be 74° in the afternoon

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

5 out of 5
We entered the Tracy arm fjord at approximately 7 AM it was probably 55° and a light rain. After a couple hours the rain lifted and I was able to enjoy a lot of the views sitting in the hot tub in the serenity area …breathtaking views

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Some people in our group did the zip line. The rest of us went to board the explorer gondola and then went for a walk

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the white pass train tour. And then we explored town. It was a cooler day probably 58° and a light mist.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
The staff at Carnival did a fine job with disembarkation . Just be prepared for very large crowd of people waiting for taxis and Uber‘s. We had two Uber‘s counsel on us before we actually got one
