First cruise first time to USA. Meeting our son and partner in San Diego and having them with us to show us the ropes was excellent. Hope it will be the first of many.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had any time dining and this suited us great only a slight wait sometimes but you were given a pager that went off 5 to 10 mins after you were given it. We dined with our son and partner who new the ropes so it was fab. We found an excellent serving team of ERIX & WASSAMA they were fantastic catering for our food intolerances to the letter, and being really chatty and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them they made us look forward to dinning.

Onboard Activities

Pools were fine plenty of sun loungers great service from bar waiters especially JEFFERSON.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cabin steward Erlande looked after us very well, Erix & Wassama in the dining room were exceptional, Jefferson pool waiter was excellent service as all the staff these were just the ones that seemed exceptional. Everyone having only met you once remembered your name I found that amazing, when it takes me all my time to remember what day it is.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was spotless tables were cleared away quickly.

Cabin / Stateroom

First ever cruise so didn’t know exactly to expect, but we were very pleased on the size of the room plenty of storage for our cases these went under the bed 3 large cases. Storage for my wife’s clothes could have been bigger but with her utilising my hanging space she was fine I had the shelves which was fine.

First time in USA expected it to be hussle and bussle and hi rise, but we were pleasantly surprised it was low rise and very slow paced and the people were so friendly the food eating out was fantastic we ate at the WATERFRONT BAR & GRILL on Kettner Blvd. several times always good food and pleasant atmosphere. Also went to Princess Pub and Grill in little Italy. We also ate at the Cheesecake Factory bottom of Kettner blvd. the food here was exceptional.

Did the zip wire excursion with my son and partner what a fantastic experience at 66. I would definitely do it again, the only downside was the high heat and humidity slightly unbearable at least you got a breeze on the zip wire.
