This was an unforgettable experience for our whole family.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived about an hour before our appointed time and we’re on board very quickly. The Port of San Diego was very efficient.
With all of the platinum and diamond members, we had been warned that our cabin would not be ready when we got on board, but that we would have access to drop off our carry-on bags. We could not get into our cabin and had to track down a supervisor to let us in to stow our luggage.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We loved our service in the Bacchus dining room. We had 12 family members at our table and Domo and his team —Made and Ralph —couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful. The food was excellent, although we agree with another comment about the prime rib.
We loved the sea day brunches in the Bacchus and the sea day afternoon teas.
When we went through the canal we had room service breakfast in the suite for the whole family so we could watch the first lock together.
We loved the Alchemy Bar and spent many nights there. The bar tenders were creative and made excellent and remembered us after the first night.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Loved the trivia games, especially with Holly Mae, Char, Laura and Adam. We ended up with seven ships.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were entertaining, especially the Hypnotist and the Magician.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Overall the staff throughout the ship were friendly and engaging. Our only issue was our cabin steward who never introduced her/himself and never addressed us by name. We were not even sure of his or her name.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We have sailed often on this class of ships and love its size and accessibility. The ship was kept clean and on good shape.
It is disappointing that guests would be so thoughtless as to leave empty glasses on elevators and in common hallways.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We chose a suite to have a cabin big enough to gather our whole family together — 12 of us. The cabin and balcony were sufficient size for evening cocktails and snacks and a morning canal day continental breakfast.
Ship tip
If you have the opportunity, the “Behind the Fun” tour is well worth the cost.
We went to the Butterflies and Hummingbird Tour. The lady who gave the presentation of the insects was fascinating and could have been a stand up comic.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn which picked us up from the airport and took us to the Port.
We had a great lunch at the Shakespeare Pub &Grill on India Street.
