Disappointing cruise, I really wanted to visit Puerto Vallarta and this port was cancelled.

Review summary

I have been on 3 cruises and this was the worst. I don't feel there was enough to do, I was disappointed in the food and the overall experience was not what I expected. I wanted so bad to enjoy this, as I wanted to take more cruises out of Long Beach CA. I live in Arizona and was hoping that the Carnival Miracle would be a great experience since I can get to the Long Beach Port by car. I would have to think long and hard about trying Carnival again.

Service and Staff

My steward was good and most of the ships staff was okay.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean. Nothing exceptional about the room design. Balcony was okay.

Ship tip

Be prepared to eat the same thing often. Buffet stations close early or at inconvenient times. Pizza station is open 24 hours which is about the only thing that is.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This port was fine. I had been here previously and yes we did an excursion. It was not one I would recommend as you go around the bay on a boat for an hour, walk to the downtown area and are there for an hour or so and then go to the beach for an hour.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Did not visit port

Really disappointed that we did not visit this port. The captain decided not to because of the chance of bad weather. Instead we went to Ensenada. This was extremely disappointing to me. I really had my heart set on visiting Puerto Vallarta. I don't feel Ensenada was anywhere close as a exchange.

I'm from the east coast DC to be exact so we usually fly to Orlando or Miami to cruise I will say those ports and boats are bigger and more people, the miracle was different, more laid back less people, the check in was a breeze,we enjoyed every moment wished we did a back to back on her just like the other person said your vacation is what you make it, wish you luck on your future vacations

We too are from Arizona. Getting ready for our fourth cruise on the Miracle. Easy Peasy from AZ. Your cruise is what you make of it. We have always wished that we had done this or that after the cruise. This is what has kept us coming back. 16 days and counting. The ship is easy to get around. I do not look at the Miracle as outdated, but more like "vintage".
