Review summary

So disappointed.  Had been looking forward to this trip since the summer.  We opted for the Premium Balcony room since it would just be my husband and I.  This room was at a significant greater cost than the regular balcony. The room was dirty, not at all well maintained and overall very underwhelming. There was someone's long black hair everywhere.  That just truly grosses me out.  Paint was chipping and missing and the furniture had definitely seen better days and about 15-20 years out of date.

The food was the absolutely worst thing about this cruise.  AWFUL is a gross understatement.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The lido deck buffet and dining room were awful. People were walking out of the sea day brunches truly upset because the eggs were inedible. The lines at the buffet were worse than most buffets in Vegas at a 1/10th of the quality. They truly skimp on food quality. That use to be the best part of taking a cruise. Carnival seems to have their bottom line more in mind than dining on the boat. The steakhouse was the only positive dining experience we had on board.

Onboard Activities

For seven days very limited. I could not even imagine doing the Hawaii cruise for 14 days on this tiny ship. Keep in mind it is one of Carnivals smallest and oldest vessels. I wish I would of known this before booking this trip.

Cabin / Stateroom

Dirty old and rundown. Did not seem to clean the room at all between guests. Can't believe I paid extra for that filth.

Ship tip

One of Carnivals oldest and smallest ships.

Simple solution. Don't Cruise anymore. Then you won't have anything to complain about. You make your vacation a memorable experience, or a horrible experience. Just go with the flow, and have PATIENCE.

Greg-alexander thanks for your info as well. A Mexican riviera cruise is a thought me.

sheetara86    8 years ago

Thanks Pauly for that info. That is really good to know, I am now checking on cost and so far Carnival seems to have the best deal. It seems that Rccl and Ncl prices are double carnival and the cruising time frame for Rccl and Ncl are shorter.

sheetara86, I haven't done the hawaii cruise yet, but it is definitely on my list. going on the Mexican riviera again in march.

I'm on the Miracle with you on Jan 9th :) we will make our trip positive no doubt

Beckeez1    9 years ago

I'm so wanting to move closer. I have to find new work when I complete my cancer treatment. any suggestions for that area?

Beckeez1    9 years ago

Modesto area. If closer we would go more often

Omgosh! some great prices coming up! $133 for 4 days. We stay at Pacific Inn at Seal Beach. Great place, free parking while we cruise and they drop off and pick up from port.

gregalexander    9 years ago

we live about an hour from longbeach. how about you?

Beckeez1    9 years ago

Thx. It's all good. that's why the people that find no joy in family time just make me grumpy. Are you close to a port?

gregalexander    9 years ago

That's Awsome! I pray all goes well for you. we did the zip line in Roatan and really enjoyed it too.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

I so wanna cruise with y'all. What a great attitude. We usually do midship, I am easy seasick. My last chemo is Tues and we sail Saturday. I have the best drs they are prescribing extra meds to make sure we enjoy this trip. Zipline in Catalina was great. Son loved the Ensenada zipline.

If I ever get too good for a carnival cruise, I know something is wrong with me. I will check for a price drop, but I'm trying an aft balcony this time and they've been sold out for awhile ,so I don't think it will show a price change.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

yes. 8 more weeks chemo and then onto the Miracle. Makes people's complaints seem very silly. Enjoy what you can.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

Greg - Alexander check carnival.com prices have really dropped! I check on a regular basis. traveling is the best education in my opinion for my kids.

gregalexander    9 years ago

That's Great!!

Beckeez1    9 years ago

I seem short but Carnival just spent an hour on the phone with me insuring our next cruise is perfect. We are celebrating birthdays and end of my chemotherapy.

gregalexander    9 years ago

thankyou! haven't been on the small ships yet, but can't wait to try them. going on the miracle again in march.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

some great prices right now.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

Honestly? They are about identical. Service was great on both. Kids would rather take either over the Miracle because of water park.

gregalexander    9 years ago

hey beckeez1, I see you were on the miracle with us on nov. 3rd 2013. I see you've been on the imagination, and the Inspiration. which would you recommend out of those two?

Beckeez1    9 years ago

Thx Greg - Alexander. Carnival has always gone out of their way for us! I'm glad you called him out.

gregalexander    9 years ago

joeexpress aka gretcheand work for rccl. what are you doing on the carnival thread anyway?

Beckeez1    9 years ago

whatever! we always have a great time. if we ever had a problem Carnival took care of it. Maybe, it's attitude.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

hey, joeexpress, don't care if people can't make the best of their situations. everyone has a reason to complain. I'm grateful for any time I spend with my family.

Beckeez1    9 years ago

Usually, best price is through Carnival. Sorry you were so unhappy.

mcabrera    9 years ago

We did the Miracle in Feb. we had 2 premium rooms and we had no problems, rooms were clean. We are going again in Feb and getting a premium room again. These trips are always what you make of it, is what you will get out of it.

Wow, really?  I purchased this cruise through Priceline, went on the cruise, came back and they asked me to leave feedback.  Which took me to this site and I did.  If you can't handle honesty and that some people have higher standards than yours maybe you should be looking in the mirror and ask what the heck is wrong with me that I would settle for less.  This was not our first cruise but it will be the last with Carnival.  Am I lucky that I got to go on a cruise?  No, I work hard for a living and when I get time off and I expect a certain level of satisfaction for my hard earned money.  Do I feel that Carnival delivered on that?  Absolutely not!  This site asked for my review and I gave it honestly.  Upon talking with other guests upon this ship I know we are not the only ones that were extremely unsatisfied.
